The inspiration for this was Zartanman's awesome custom of Darth Starkiller (Luke Skywalker). He also came up with a cool "what if" story. Vader kills the Emperor and then searches for his twin children and raises them.

Darth Luke & Darth Leia - a set on Flickr

My story is that Vader is able to turn Luke to the dark side at Bespin. Trains him in secret and then together defeat the Palpatine at the Battle of Endor as father and son.

I used the same basic figures as Zartanman but with some changes. I used movie Warmachine for the body, the Luke Skywalker head from the Target Ranor set, a TIE Fighter's helmet, and General Grievous cape. I went with a simple gloss black to match the helmet and to go with his daddy's suit. Like father like son. Thanks, Z-man, for an awesome idea.

    UPDATE 1-5-11

I finally thought of a name! Actually, my wife did. :)  DARTH LUCAS!!! HAHA!!!

Two more pics! It shows how he got the helmet. Also I like that maybe, Lucas is so brutal that he just decapitates any poor pilot just for the helmet just like how daddy would force choke and officer for failure.

Darth Vertor. (Get it? Power converters? Hee hee).

I REALLY like the War Machine body on Luke. It makes Luke look like a logical evolution of his father's outdated 30-year-old armor. Luke looks dangerous, and that cape adds a lot to the look.

Some constructive criticism, though? The TIE fighter helmet makes Luke look kind of generic. As a piece of customization, you did a great job, but something that sets Darth Vader apart from his masked soldiers is that Vader was the only one with that helmet design.

I hear you about the helmet. I did put Vader's helmet on Luke just for fun but it looked like Spaceballs. :)

I'm thinking that this is just armor for Luke and not a life support system like Vader's so he just took some pilot's helmet just because he can.

Finally a Luke I can stand lol. You should maybe scar up his face a bit. As for a name, how about: Darth Leviathan? Its a play like Vader. Vade means to vanish or fade. Leviathan is a play at levitate, which could be the "rise" of a new Sith era. (that and its an awesome name of "biblical" proportions haha) Plus it pays homage to the ship used by Karath when he served under Malak & Revan.

Very nice work here. It really works for an upgraded Vader suit too....as you said, like father, like son.

Your concept would actually be an episode that I would enjoy watching....I love "What If" story lines.

I always thought "vader" meant "Father" in another language.

It does. It's Dutch for father.

But he got his name before Lucas decided that he would be Luke's father, so maybe he got the name from "invader".

Of course, it also has the slightly darker connotations of "invader". Which I can't help thinking was deliberate, given that his mentor was (in)Sidious.

I like this a lot; as you said, the War Machine body looks like a definite upgrade from Vader's armour. I'm assuming that since Luke still looks very much like himself, then this would be very soon after taking up the role of Sith, but I agree with some of the other comments that a little subtle scarring could add a lot more character to his face.
