Got this idea from the worst purchase ever thread. What should you have bought but now can't?

Well, this is quite a list...

    RiD Prowl and X-Brawn.

    Armada Unicron.

Pre-ordering MP-05 from somewhere that ships to the UK and is guaranteed not to mutilate him. :(

    Alt Smokescreen.

    Re-issue (Europe 1991) Ironhide.

    Overlord.

What appeared to be a licensed version (black) of Shockwave, for about £10, in 1988.

Constructicons! In late 1991 Woolworths stocked all of them but I only managed to pick up Hook and Scrapper. :(  Devastator remains a grail.

Any of the BTR sets (I also collect Lego!).

And probably many, many more... :cry

I wish I hadn't been closed minded when beast wars was on the shelves. I've bought a lot of them off ebay, but I wish I'd bought them at retail:(

The only other thing I can thing of is Armada Nemesis Prime. I passed on it several times unfortunately.

Wow, someone else who remembers that release? I thought it was a phenomenon localised entirely in my area of the UK that may or may not have actually been my imagination. Thanks for proving that as far as Constructicons go I'm not mad!

Now, I've got plenty I could name here, but I'll leave it at the one.

    Clench.

Seen him twice, once in stores and once at a convention. Passed on him both times, the first for the Lightformer Ironfist (don't regret it one bit, he is a sweet toy in his own right) and the second time for Laser Optimus Prime.

I only wish I had enough money for both on either occasion I saw him. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to pass on either of the badass TFs I got in his place!

There's a whole section at Wal-Mart where you can buy it on spools.

For me it's gotta be a lot of the Robots in Disguise line.

I kick myself to this day for not getting Ultra Magnus when he was out.. and definitely kick myself over Rail Racer. That line brought me back to TFs with the car brothers and Prime. I would have loved to have Magnus and Rail Racer too though.

Well let's see. Some that come to mind are
    Anime Astrotrain
    Sunstorm and Hauler
    Ghost of Starscream
    and the worst of all........
A huge microwave box full of transformers for $50 at a flea market. I remember seeing a complete jetfire still in styrofoam on top of the pile. Makes me very sad.

I'm sure there were many many more.

Most of the TRU G1 reissues from awhile back. They just seemed a mite overpriced to me at the time, and by the time I'd finally convinced myself to start buyin' them, I only got hold of Hoist and they'd disappeared.

I could have bought in the mid 90's a MSIB Jetfire for $50. I am still kicking myself over that miss.

    TFs:
A very large portion of Beast Wars. I also should have continued buying BW2 and Neo figures while I was on a that kick. I ended up getting close to half of the those two Japanese lines, but got distracted with collecting something else.

There are also a few Micron Legend items I'd like to get.

    Star Wars:
Many of the vehicles released as part of the "Original Trillogy Collection" and Saga lines. At the time I passed on them due to cost and lack of space... but I still want them.
