So I've been re-watching season one from the beginning and noticed this for the first time. Is it like an arm cast for Ratchet? It was taken from Darkness Rising pt 4, time index 15:21 - after Ratchet and Optimus had fought the Terrorcons.

Yep. It's a robo arm-cast. He got hurt by the zombies in the fight. I like how it's Optimus who puts it on him, it fits with him having a bookish background considering he used to work as an archivist,

That's so the glue has time to set and he doesn't end up with a crooked arm.

Good catch, I guess TF(s) need castes too.

Megatron doesn't believe they need castes.

One thing I love about this show is the attention to details. You can see especially in the upper arm where it appears the most damage is. Plus in Scrapheap they did a beautiful job showing the "flesh wounds" inflicted by the scraplets.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a very clever pun. Or not.

    noun
    1. an endogamous and hereditary social group limited to persons of the same rank, occupation, economic position, etc., and having mores distinguishing it from other such groups.

Looks to me like it fits.

I thought it was pretty funny, anyway.

I think it's an unintentional pun by TFW10, and taken advantage of by LCDR

Yep. Giant robo-cast/brace. You can even see that he's nursing his injured arm just after the zombie fight. It's all limp and he's holding it.

:lol  Is it bad that I laughed really hard at this?

It appears that it was a typo on TFW10, and LCDR made it hilarious. I think he deserves a reward of some kind.

    Fixed.

On topic: Why is that the only cast-type-thing- we've seen? Surely there have been much worse cases of battle damage.

    Indeed. I've wondered this myself.

Also has the little alcove in the back area have a name? We've seen Bee walking out of that in "Out of his Head" and Optimus after "Sick Mind". Probably a number of other episodes that I cannot name at the moment.

I could have sworn I'd read something that labelled it as a CR Chamber, similar to the ones in Beast Wars. However I can't remember where I got that idea from.

My god! What an awesome catch. It also explains why Ratchet didn't go with them to the space bridge. I'm guessing you can't transform with a cast on. :D
