‘Transformers 3′ filming in NYC next week
it seems Filming is not over
Nice! I wonder why they need Arabic (ect.) type extras. Will it actually be NYC for the movie?
WOOT! I, for one, welcome Bay and his crew to The Big Apple.
Second Unit, maybe? Wasn't there some Second Unit filming in Paris for ROTF after the main shoot was over?
exacty where in nyc are they shooting
i dont know
middle eastern or indian or african people in ethnic clothing?...what could this possibly mean?
Good to know that production and filming is wrapping up in a great location.
now for the reveal!
I didn't even know that they were planning on shooting any scenes here. That's pretty cool to know that they are now.
In any case I posted something on here a few months ago when the news about James Avery voicing Silverbolt came out...
I figured that if Micheal Bay didn't use the jets which are on the USS Intrepid then he is a fool.
Just think how awesome it would be if all of the Aerialbots were on the deck of that aircraft carrier and then all took off at once.
It would be a sweet sight to see them all fly off into the sunset with the NYC skyline in the background.
I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with the USS Intrepid. It is a decommissioned aircraft carrier that is docked in New York City. On its deck there are many decommissioned aircraft. Many of them were used for military purposes, but there are some civilian aircraft such as one of the Concord jetliners. In fact right now the USS Intrepid is also in the running to acquire one of the NASA space shuttles once they are decommissioned as well.
Now I know that it would be impossible for the Concord or any jet for that matter to take off from that deck with all of the other jets on it. I even know that the Concord would need more of a runway than that to get up to speed. I just though it would have been a cool idea because the jets could transform into robot mode, jump into the air, and then transform back into jet mode and take off. They are robots afterall.
If you don't like that idea I guess they could just toss all of the other non-transforming jets off of the deck and into the water to make room in order to take off. I don't think that the Autobots would be that wreckless though.
The USS Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum features the following aircraft which could be used as the Aerialbots...
Concord = Silverbolt
F4 Phantom II = Fireflight
AV-8B Harrier II = Slingshot
F-16 Fighting Falcon = Skydive
The only one that is missing would be an F-15 Eagle for Air Raid. I would probably just substitute it for the F-14 Tomcat that is also on the Intrepid. It would be like the G.I. Joe Skystriker showing up in the Transformers universe.
Anyways, I always found it wierd that they orginally used an F-15 Eagle for the G1 Air Raid in the first place after the Decepticon seekers were already F-15's as well.
Calling it now... Sounds like a UN scene... somebody's making an impassioned speech for the world to respond to the Decepticon threat.
^ Most likely it'll be Sam Witwicky and it'll be about something to do with the Autobots/Decepitcon war and the space race between USA and Russia.
Interesting most interesting.
The autobots will lose the battle and galloway making the speech
Cool idea. Or it could be about Congress passing an act to exile all Transformers - Autobot and Decepticon - from Earth (or simply just exiling the Autobots from North America).
It'd be neat if they could have a little cameo in there from Galloway having his negative opinion about the Autobot's presence. Just a little 30 second scene where someone could introduce the next speaker and reveal it to be Galloway in all his douche-baggish glory. Would be a simple way to tie the movies together.
Or they could even have one of the Autobots (most likely Optimus) speak on the Autobots' behalf in front of the crowd. Just picture ILM's awesomeness: a 30 foot Optimus Prime stepping forward in front of the crowd, with his deep voice resonating, without the aid of a microphone.
Either way, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out.
Best way to finish a 3 movie series is to end it on a cliff hanger with the world voting to send the Autobots off the planet.
Well given the earlier spoiler.
The US Congress wants the Autobots off US territory but the UN gives its full support for the Autobots to stay on Earth.
That script that leaked last year had one of the opening scenes at the UN.
Ha! I knew it was going to be at the UN... ethnic clothes... stars have wrapped, so nothing but a room full of extras... it there's a named character speaking, maybe they've already filmed the dialogue and this is just for the crowd reaction shots?
Separate names with a comma.
