DOTM Bumblebee is another nice simplified ( compared to ROTF ) entry into the new movie line.

His Camaro mode is nice and compact with all parts tucking away neatly and with little fuss, panels are also kept to a minimum hence the more simple transformation employed.

Robot mode has rectified the arm gripe a lot of fans had with Battle Blade in that the arms now have a swivel and pivot much like a GIJOE figure allowing his hands to sit in the correct position. Windows fold out for bot mode to complete the look and fold back in for car mode as the nascar guards are static and dont move.

His mechtech weapon is cool and flips out into a larger blaster by pulling the large tab at the back, he can wield it in his hand or on one of the forearm mechtech ports.

Overall a very nice toy and so much better for kids than any of the toys which have come before, if your like me though and a collector stick with your Battle Blade, its def the superior figure for us oldies :)

    Overall 8/10

Just a quick note for all the usual oracles in this thread the figure isnt mistransformed, it came fresh off the card and was done using the instructions which I gather are correct, this also isnt a retool of the BB Bee in anyway, no parts the same, it isnt even the same size ? and yeah the windshield can sit lower but only if you want it trailing behind him like a skirt. The way it is in the pics is due to the fact thats the point it actually clips in, any lower and it just hangs there.

It looks like the window glass can fold down, but where do the Nascar window guard things go in robot mode? Also, not to be picky, but could we get a side by side of him with that Ratchet and Ironhide? Looks like they're all pretty comfortably sized with one another, but it's hard to tell with them squating.

They really tried to make him look cheap compared to BB Bumblebee. The shade of the face paint especially.

So wait, I'm confused. I thought this was the same as the BB mold but without the mask and arm gimmicks. Is that not the case? It certainly looks a little shorter (which I like).

I think I'll still pick it up as I like the car mode and I'm going to start a shelf of DOTM figures that I will pick and choose from to make my definitive MOVIE collection.

I'll stick with Battle Blade Bumblebee as the definitive Deluxe Class version. Damn, what a waste.

I think this is the first line I can remember where I won't be picking up pretty much everything from Scout size up. In fact, I'll be surprised if I end up with 30% of this line. We went from incredible designs running through RotF (Leader Prime, Battle Blades Bumblebee to name a couple standouts), and now...this.

    Seriously.

So far there are only 5 figures that I want.

This yellow blob of plastic though? He's definitely not on that list. HA BB and BBBB are the only ones that are worth owning IMO.

This BB has everything it needs in the mold. Now all it needs is some actual paint apps.

Does he not have the mask? Why the hell would they take that away? The mask was bad-ass!

Wow that actually looks horrible. His head looks like it barely lifts out of the hood. WTF? Hopefully there is a review on this one, if not it is a def pass.

I was holding out on the Battle Blades mold in order to see what they would do to it later, like previous BB molds. This thread tells me to go to Walmart and pick up the current one.

I like how it looks less scrawny then the Battle Blades version...*Shrug*

That's what I was going to do, too. But honestly at this point I don't really care enough to get either one. I'm just going to stick with the 2007 Deluxe.

Dammit, it's just different enough to be worth getting to repaint. Damn you Hasbro, this had BETTER be the only deluxe Bumblebee mould you release in this line.

I like how they went back to the gold Chevy emblem and I like the full black stripes. I still love my Battle Blades Bumblebee and will be picking this one up as well. Thanks Red Leader for the pictorial review.
