So far, the third DotM non-Cyberverse figure I'm picking up (After Laserbeak and Thundercracker).

Love the colors and I liked the SS mold, but the plastic color was just disgusting. I like how, even without the Mechtechs SS still looks armed (with his swords). This is important to me with the Mechtech cars that tend to look awkward when they have a streamlined vehicle mode and a giant boxy gun sticking off them. Though DS's weapons even look pretty streamlined and organic in vehicle mode.

Throw in an homage to a fun BW character and fun looking Mechtechs and I am absolutely sold. Very excited.

Agreed - I've liked the mechanics of the Sideswipe mold since the first review, it was just the (lack of) color that killed it for me. Awesome repaint, check - he'll drop nicely in with Lockdown's Neo-Stunticons on my shelves.

Sol Fury, I think the homage is loosely based on Quickstrike from BW.

 

^You are correct, sir.   IMHO the Darksteel head needs some green/gold to make it truly look like Quickstrike.

I may be the odd one out. I got Darksteel and everytime I look at him, I either burst out laughing or giggle by just looking at him. Probably his goofy mugshot kinda reminds me (if you guys dont see it, then it is just me) of Zoolander.

Blue Steel = Dark Steel = Blue Steel.

if you have DOTM sideswipe...try giving sideswipes mech gun to darksteel...the color is almost a perfect complement to him....plus a big ASS GUN OF DEATH is always cool.

 

Got one today and my only problem is to have him hold his weapons properly. Too bad he doesn't have peg holes on the side of his forearms, that would have helped a lot.

Head totally screams Bayverse to me, it looks like a variation on the Starscream head.

 

Funny you say that, I thought the SAME thing. So much Im thinkin about getting two of these and doing a head swap so thundercracker could be unique..if it worked..

 

i got tired of waiting on HTS...and grabbed 3 off ebay...at $18ish a pop plus shipping for the three....

 

I don't see quickstrike in there any where, but it's still a neat looking figure for sure!!

Ebay for me as well. Local stores have barely got past wave 1, and the ebay seller was asking £15 - only a tiny bit over UK retail - and shipping. For a couple of Deluxes, I can afford that, and the extra money was well spent in giving you guys a gallery that you're really enjoying. I'm glad
