Around-the-World Roundup: 'Transformers' Lays Waste to World - Box Office Mojo

"With debuts in China and Japan scheduled for later this month, it's a foregone conclusion that Dark of the Moon will ultimately finish significantly higher than its predecessor's $434.2 million foreign total. Based on these initial results, an overseas total north of $600 million appears within reach, and the movie could even make a run at $1 billion worldwide."

Fuck yes. I'm so glad to see something I love become so successful. Whether it's near or far Transformer movies in the future is for sure. And that excites the hell out of me.

a friend of mine who was unable to see the movie untill today went to two theaters for 7pm showings and both were sold out. he ended up having to wait for a 9pm showing. crazy that two theaters would be sold out on not only a tuesday evening, but a tuesday evening a week after the movie was released.

The past two movies didn't performed well in Japan. Japanese prefer to watch Gundam or harry potter.

South Korea and China will bring a lot of money, though. They love Transformers.

If this franchise does get to a billion, you think Paramount will stop being cheap with the Transformers themselves, and step up to the plate? You know, we should have gotten Ironhide blowing away 5 dreads, not one????????
