I was trying to reorganize my shelves a little this morning. I picked up Dark Crumplezone and his right leg just fell off! I didn't drop it or handle it roughly or anything! Has this happened to anyone else?

My one seems to be fine, though I do have a bone to pick with the engineers for making the tabs on those small attachable spoiler fins so, erm, thin. One side almost snapped off.

    I hope yours is repairable

Tried it. Doesn't look like it. Thanks, though.

    Super weak man!

If you got it recently you might be able to take it back to the store (that is, if you got it in stores), I've found they're usually cool about exchanging/refunding defective merchandise.

Hope you get it solved man, that's a huge bummer!

Mine looks okay, but then, he only arrived yesterday so he's still in his box. Hope you can sort him out, the Crumplezones are great, fun molds.

I don't know if it's just me or if there's something funny about the quality of the Cybertron repaints.
The plastic feels different and softer.

Cannonball for example, the left half of his hood just broke off when I opened it. Never had any problem like that with the original mold.
Also Skywarp's arms just feel like they're going to break at any moment. Had to be very gentle when posing them, the pieces seemed soft. Even his legs felt a little different.
Had no probs like that with Thundercracker, been pretty rough with him.

Soft plastic seems to be a problem on some of the earlier ones too - my Clocker developed a stress mark on the blue plastic where the shoulder hinge is located. Megatron did the exact same.

Having compared Gasket to Ransack, Ransack seems to be made of softer plastic too.

Something i (thought i) noticed was that Scrapmetal has a more 'orangey' consistancy to the plastic than the red version of Ramble. ...

I'm thinking Hasbro have been using softer plastic than Takara since the start of the line.

As for bits falling off and looseness straight out of the package, perhaps the molds themselves are made at less cost these days.........

thats a really fragile joint already (you can tell just by looking at it), made worse by using transparent plastic, which isnt as strong as solid-color plastic.

    bad engineering and bad luck.
