“Oh, good grief” Danger Mouse, the world’s greatest secret agent, had just completed another harrowing mission. However, success came at a cost. His beloved steed, the Mark III danger car, had to be sacrificed to stop the machinations of the evil Baron Greenback. Moreover, his faithful assistant Penfold was laid up in the hospital with a near fatal ingrown toenail. With Penfold’s physical therapy estimated at 6-8 months, the white wonder was on his own. Subsequently, Danger Mouse was called to central HQ by Colonel K and Professor Squawkencluck. At the center of the garage was…the Mark III! “Good grief, Colonel,” Danger Mouse said. “Did you rebuild it, or am I looking at the Mark IV?” At this point the car shuddered, and looked like it was falling apart. But instead it unfolded, shifted, and stood up. Standing a whopping six inches tall, a robot loomed over Danger Mouse…and grinned. “No number, mate. Just call me Mark.” The Colonel barely had time to explain that Mark was a member of an alien race working with the various world governments when the news broke that the Baron was back and stomping through downtown London in the Frog’s Head Flyer. Mark cracked his metallic knuckles and shifted back into car mode before extending his hidden wings, tail fin, and his own optional extra, twin cannon hidden in his front bumper. “Right, then.” said Danger Mouse as he hopped in the driver seat. “Let’s get out there. I’ll take the Baron…” Mark finished the thought, “And I’ll show that Robotech knock-off of a flyer what a real mech can do!” (Cue theme music) Okay, this one’s been on my mind for a while. Mark is made from a G1 broken Overdrive that I picked up for three bucks. The tail fin is a small piece of styrene, and another piece was added to the hood for the intake. After that, it was just a repaint job. I made the non-car parts white to emulate Danger Mouse himself, and of course, he has a painted on eye patch. The replacement for the missing windshield is a piece of plastic cut from a bottle of sparkling water. Slap on a couple of stickers, and he’s all done. Now I just need a Rodent Alliance figure to go with him… Thanks for looking.
Loooved Danger Mouse's car growing up. It blows my mind to see someone else reference it in 2016 let alone make it into a Transformer! And the eye patch is a nice touch
Thanks, everyone. Zeke, don't know if you have Netflix, but the most recent reboot is streaming there. It's definitely written with a more mainstream audience in mind, but definitely worth a look.
No attachment to the character myself, but I do love the more "out of nowhere" crossover customs! Good job, man.
