it is an interesting concept and it would also explain why the autobots/decepticons are trying to get it back.

i don't like it for a transformers movie though.

i like the scene idea though

Good! Dane Cook is a hack. He does have a good stage presence and knows how to work the crowd, but his bits are sooo bad, and the bits that are good he rips off other comedians!

So basically, "Transformers" has not only ripped off the main plot device of the 1980's He-Man movie, it's also going to have little robots being brought to life ala that other great 80's franchise, Gremilins?

How is he a hack? What other comedians has he stolen material from?? I watch a lot of various comedians and I've never heard anyone else tell the jokes he does.

As a stand-up, at least when I first saw him a couple of years ago, he was essentially trying to be a new Jim Carey, complete with the silly face & body contortions and all. His act screamed of rip-off.

As a so-called F-List "actor", he's just a dumbed down version of Ryan Reynolds. And that's pretty bad considering what a joke Reynolds is on his own anyway.

I think his new movie with Jessica Simpson and that clown from Punk'd sums up his talent & expected success life span pretty accurately.

On his latest CD he has ripped off Louis C.K. three times! Louis C.K. is one of the greatest comedians and comedic writers out there. He was Conan's head writer along with Robert Schmigel back in the day and head wrote alot of the Chris Rock show.

Louis CK had some bits long ago called, "Itchy Asshole," "Guy On A Bike," and "Naming Kids." which are extremely similar if not spot on to Dane Cook's bits, "Itchy Asshole," "Struck By A Vehicle," and "My Son Optimus Prime,"

No. This isn't Dances With Wolves or The Ten Commandents.

Could you go into al ittle more detail like describing the bits or something? I mean, I've done jokes about kids names to my friends and I don't listen to any comedy cds.

Yep, all we need now are some talking babies and a bunch of kids looking for some pirate treasure. And maybe a boxer single-handedly changing a communist country....

    Okay, sorry you've lost me.

This is a "family" movie. Humour, action, explosions, a wee bit of romance.... These are the staples of the genre.

Hell, they're the staple of Transformers IMO.

:lolol  I love this thread. Never heard of Dane Cook anyway. Al least I don't recognize the name. I think talking dogs would add a special touch too. :lol

Read the thread title, skipped to the last page- all I can say is "good". The movie just rose that much higher in my esteem.

Edit: and, I see this is old news.
