I just found out Sanctuary was cancelled. Dammit to hell what are those idiots doing at Syfy. They are ruining their network with this reality tv crap.

Well it costs money to film Sci Fi shows, they could make 3 crappy reality shows for the same price. Then blame the viewer, torrents, youtube, and the family dog for low ratings.
No way can it be poor planning and bad decisions by those at the top.

By the time that happens the excutives who came up with the plan will have moved on to higher paying positions elsewhere anyway

Sigh... I can't say that I'm surprised given Syfy's track record with slowly cancelling all of their good shows one by one.

Well duh they are going to cancel it. Do you really expect a channel called SyFy to have science fiction shows on it?

I think it would be awesome if some other company made a science fiction channel & was just like Sci-Fi from over a decade ago. No original programming, just showing scifi related reruns.

    true

That would be awsome. I mean I don't mind some of the original programming but I can't stand some reality shows. I mean Destination Truth is okay but shows like monsterman and that new series where contestants are in the dark are stupid. Strange though that I'm not seeing the same responses I saw when Eureka was cancelled.

They're slowly moving towards nothing but unscripted shows, and movies from The Asylum.

Pretty much. This is why I buy a lot of Dvd's I'll need them when all networks go to crap.

It's been a slow but steady descent. They really had to dumb down the network name from SciFi? That c was too confusing for people, so let's just spell it with y's. And replace the monsters and aliens with scary earthquakes and volcanoes. And the god damn shark and crocodile movies. Fuck it.

Sci-fi's a fucking joke. I miss the days when they used to show Godzilla films and Anime. I used to watch that channel ALL THE TIME. Hell (despite knowing their programming), I probably haven't watched Sci-Fi in a good 10 years, maybe?

I agree. Then again what's the point of the channel if they can't invest in SciFi shows? The existence of reality shows have lowered the bar in so many areas on TV. The execs are addicted to easy money over quality.

This is unfortunate for those who were fans of the show. I think the last time I tuned into SyFy for an actual reason was when Nu-BSG was on.

It's a pity, but the Siffy Channel has been going down the tubes for a while now.

Only seen up to the end of season two of Sanctuary so far, but Siffy UK is starting to air season three here on the 6th of June so that'll be nice. Bummer that there's nothing after the fourth season though. On the other hand it's useful to know there's a definite end (of episodes, if not story) as I kinda hate getting stuck with a show for years on end. If I know it's a certain finite experience that's something to shoot for.
