I remember a while ago when you ould rent games for 2 week for only like 9 or 8 bucks. Then they went down to 1 week which didnt really bother me too much. Well now its five days for $9. I rented Lego Indiana Jones because i couldnt find classics Ironhide ,and i relized i dont have any time to play. This morining I got up at 6:00 just so I could play for one interupted hour. When i get home I might have 30 mintutes, but tonight is the Broncos game so no indiana Jones for me and one big freak in indoana Jones fan that doesn't have $35 to $40 to spend.
I wish netflix had games. We had to switch from block buster to netflix because Blockbuster would take forever to send us our movies.

Does any one else have problems with block buster?

Well, yes, as a matter of fact, I do have issues with Blockbuster now. They changed their policey on games now. You have 5 days for a game (not new), but then after the 5th day they charge you .99 cents per late day. They use to give you a week long grace period after that, and the point of the grace period to just compete against netflix and gamefly.

I dont know if it's worth to complain about somthing that I'm turning in late, but darnit! The old policey was so nice!

The requirement of a credit card to rent video games is ridiculous. Which is why I refuse to use Blockbuster for anything but rare movies, or exclusives, and even then...it's rare.

Their prices are crap, their policies are crap, but their selection is one of the best I've ever seen.

I NEVER go to Blockbuster, due to their refusal to rent porn and their history of wanting to not offer rental unrated films.

They did this recently around here. Dropped rentals (on everything) from 7 days to 5, because its easier to remember. Prices for DVDs went from $3 to $5, unless it's marked hot new then its $6. Games went from $8 or two for $10 to just straight $10 for one.

We went home and signed up for Netflix the night we saw the changes. It was a pretty busy location but now its practically a ghost town.

I wrote off Blockbuster back when they started requiring you to have a credit card on record. Free reign to charge late fees/whatever on my card? Oh hell no.

I've never been with blockbuster long before they started changing due dates and pricing plans. I hate Blockbuster. I stick with NetFlicks. I buy the games I want to play. I wait till they are cheaper and I've heard several reviews. If their good I can wait till their used.

$10? Seriously? I haven't set foot in a Blockbuster in close to a decade, but that is mind-boggling. Last I remember they were like $3 or $4. Games haven't gotten three times as expensive, so why has their rental fee tripled?

    1. Blockbuster has sucked since the nineties, 2. Thats another reason why I do not believe in renting;by the time you get to playing, its time to send it back and you just lost your money.

The only time I ever "rented" a game from Blockbuster was Beast Wars for the N64 since it was an exclusive...

"I'd like to buy this game"

"We don't SELL games here, we RENT them"

"Well no stores carry it and I want to OWN the game"

"No, you can RENT the game, but you can't BUY it"

"What happens if I never return it?"

"Well then we charge your credit card the price of the game, $49.99"

"Isn't that like buying the game"

    "You can't buy the game"

"OK, so then I'd like to rent the game and never return it, how long before you charge my credit card"

    "7 days after it's late"

"Great, I'll 'rent' it then. Can I keep the box"

"No, we need that box for when you bring the game back so someone else can rent it"

    "It's not coming back..."

    "......"

The only time I rent a game from blockbuster is when a 2 for 1 coupon comes in the mail.

I quit renting from Blockbuster when they refused to rent to me because I didn't have the credit card associated with the account on me. Almost a year ago.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I found this searching for something else. I can answer this. It's quite simple really. They have a new plan to compete with Netflix. Instead of paying whatever their rediculous 1 time rentals, you pay a flat rate per month. $22 for 1 at a time, $30 for 2 at a time, and it's good for movies or games. You can also switch out as much as you want, even more than once in a day.

I tried Netflix and BBs mail in thing and hated both. I'm biased toward my local BB, though. I have friends that work there.

Just thought this might be of interest to some of you.

The only thing BB is good for is their previously viewed movie deals.
