39 eps on 2 DVDs! Quality must be pretty low.

I can't even tell if it's official. It says licensed for Malaysia. We shall see when it gets here. :)

I don't buy these things to watch, I have the UK ones. But if it's RID, and official, I get it. :)

If I don't see a shot of the actual discs with some form of company or official stamp, not getting it. I can print CD stickers and booklets myself :) .

Those Malaysian DVD's are legit in Malaysia, they have a government stamp on them and are labeled official product. That's how I got my Victory box set. Also, they worked in my XB360, but not my Blu Ray player or PS3, so they are not exactly region 0.

I got an Italian release RiD DVD of one of those volumes a few years ago, and it was region free. It's only an individual volume, though. Oh, and the ioffer DVD's are just rips, probably of the stuff that's on youtube.

Even though a person have a region free DVD player, does it play in PAL?

I recently got a bootleg copy of RiD. I've already done one run through :D  It rocked being able to watch the series in my DVD player on the flatscreen :)

It used to be because Disney was sitting on the rights. They don't have them anymore to the best of my knowledge. I really don't know what they're (meaning Hasbro) waiting for. The Transformers name and property are hot each summer when there is a new movie, and it's not like they have to dub and localize this one, they have the U.S. version readily available. R.I.D. is the great lost series. :(

Shout! Factory, are you seeing our sadness here? Maybe this one is in the pipeline? I'm buying Japanese G1. I'd be happy if R.I.D. or Car Robots made it to us. (Nostalgically prefer R.I.D....is wishing for both versions too much?)

Still have them all recorded on video, with the 911 attack in the middle.

    Have been youtubing them lately.

    Former Malaysian here guys.

    The dvds are NOT LEGIT.

While they enjoy a certificate of authenticity, and are sold in stores dealing in legitimate goods, they are NOT OFFICIAL PRODUCTS.

Either because of negligence or corruption on part of the Malaysian Film and Television Board, bootleg dvds of cartoons and anime are often labelled as 'licensed products'.

Again, THEY ARE NOT LEGIT. DO NOT BUY.
