I was just on www.bwtf.com and I saw the reviews of Botcon 2007s Dirge, and Thrust, and I was thinking to myself, "Dammit Botcon, why did you have to make three of the exclusive figures seekers?" Untill I actually get a real job I'll never own them. That's all. I'm not trying to rant or anything, I'm just bummed...
You aren't the only one especially since Hasbro is continuing with Classics i.e. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I always wanted to see the cast of MTME in an updated version but oh well, at least I can comfort myself on the following: i) At least I've got all their original G1 counterparts; ii) I don't know how long Hasbro will stick with Classics; and iii) I can focus on other stuff like Gundam and ML etc! LOL!
DUDE... this is something i've been thinking about... and might as well add to this thread... does anyone think they would have LOST money for making a bunch more? i mean.. dude.. so many people wanted this set... did they they have to make it so limited? is this all based on past experience where exclusives just didn't do so well? I have a real job as well.. and I'll never see these unless i go crazy one day and break down and just plop down the cash for it... i'll probably do all the ******ed crap like justify it by saying "well.. you have to add in the crap people went through to get it, the expenses they paid to get it.... the limited quantity.." yea... just factor all those nontangibles to justify the crazy price it is.... /rant
That's why I got Robot Masters Skywarp and Thundercracker. Together with my Classics Starscream they pwn Classics Bumblebee and HOC Spike in my make believe battles all the time. So what if the RM versions are slightly smaller, they're more articulate and cartoon accurate than the G1 versions, they're cheaper, and what's more they look like less powerful clones of Classics Starscream. The only problem is these 2 dont show up too often on ebay. I'm just glad I got mine before everyone found out about them and went this same route.
I think with the new Universe line, we may actually get new-mold seekers. so I'm not worried. granted, there's nothing hinting at this, and it's wishful thinking, but I was hoping for a skywarp in classics, and we got one. Nerdling, why didnt you get classics skywarp? in my opinion, he's the best figure the classics line has.
Speaking of the seekers, here are some KOs I've never seen. They're of the RM versions of SW and TC. http://cgi.ebay.com/Skywarp-Thunder...oryZ4696QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Anyone know anything about them?
It was revealed to be coming back at Botcon, under the new name 'universe". so far we know sunstreaker and sideswipe will be made, along with octane. they also said they'd like to do a new mold galvatron. "universe" will be changing from classics in a big way though, it won't be limited to G1. They said that it's where they'll do anything that isnt the current line, like if they feel like doing some beast wars stuff, it would go in Universe. theres design images of sunstreaker, sideswipe, and octane all over the internet.
or you could do what I did, and just make your own! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=145103
Did you hear that Soundwave was dancing with a custom Wheelie and Cyclonus over the fact that the only way to get classics Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust was at BotCon '07?
