I really want one of these. I guess I better get off my butt and register for Dairycon.

Very transparent. The ploy, not the toy.

So one of this year's exclusives is Ass-09, Donkey of the Apocalypse? Cool! Wish I could afford him...or to go to the con! :D  Good luck with it!

I think he's pretty slick. I've read the fanfic and think his character is... interesting. I like how they've added the fuzzy mane & removed the Unicorn horn... I've registered for this year's Dairycon, and hope there's a good chance I can get this guy (as well as the one at Gamer's Reunion in Minnesota)... I've always kinda liked the guy's story, and the "Automated Security Sentries Zero-9" designation is humorous too... We should have seen this coming a mile away though... I mean, "Asinine in '09"

So, did you guys work out a deal with Hasbro to have a repaint done, or did you buy a crapload of these from BBTS and dye/paint them all black?

The Dairycon toys have never been officially licensed by Hasbro. They've always been mass produced customs. I've run into Shawn a few times, when he's been out stocking up on figures for future Dairycons.

Looks like Pimpimus got to this before I did...

I don't know the answer to that one. I'm just a member of the Dairyland Transformers group who tries to spread the word about the con. I've asked before (when the previous black & white pic was released), and the response back was that they were 'handmade, high end customs'. I don't know what that pertains to exactly how the figure was made, but it's rather apparent the figure's been modified. However, I don't know if they were dyed, since the other Autocon conventions will be getting different versions of the figure...

I should also point out that the guy doing these is the same one who does the customizing classes at Botcon. If you've seen his customs, you know he does some amazing work.
