I only chose skrillex because of his electro tracks and not because of his brostep tracks.

    FYI, Brostep is NOT Dubstep.

It's all the same shit. Techno, house, trance, dubstep, brostep, youstep, weallstep...same shit, different name. Daft Punk, while not necessarily my favorite, is actually music.

All these sub-genres have different names for the style they represent. Take trance for example, trance has a repetive beat and is usually at about 140 BPM. Hardcore Techno on the other hand also has a repetive beat but it's sped up to 175 BPM. Dubstep is also different from Drum N Bass, Dubstep is derived from Drum N Bass. Dubstep is a slowed down 3/4 dnb beat with a shit load of bass added into it while dnb is a fast and plain 3/4 beat signature. So tell me, are they still the same?

I chose Daft Punk. Not that I totally dislike Skrillex, though, he's a damn good producer, but that Brostep/Filth stuff can get old fast.

This times a million. I got into Dubstep in 2008, at that point it was already pretty different to the stuff that came before but it still had the same sort of feel, if anything Brostep/Filth is more like hard electro (if that's a good comparison, I like a bit of electronic music, but I'm far from a connoisseur) than "real" Dubstep.

Finally, someone who knows the difference between these two genres. I wouldn't call brostep hard electro tho, it's dubstep but with a more fast and aggressive feeling to it. But it's not dubstep, it's just similar to dubstep. Still don't get what I mean? Click that link below. It'll explain brostep...to your ears.

Brostep ==> Messiah - Weapons Specialist - YouTube

Dubstep is slow, bassy and liquidy unlike the fast and aggressiveness of brostep. That's why I love dubstep, not brostep.

Not a fan of either artist to be completely honest. But I'd have to give it to DP just because a majority of Skrillex's tracks sound like Megatron after a night of binge drinking.

Daft Punk easily. People may remember them for only one type of their music, but they actually have a very diverse range of music.

Daft Punk. Dubstep is a crappy representation of "music".

I think I'm leaning more towards Daft Punk, not because Dubstep isn't "real music" or anything, but because Skrillex has more stuff that sounds bad. Daft Punk doesn't have much that's hard to listen to.

...What the fuck kind of question is that? Did you just pick two groups and put them against eachother? Daft punk can take a dump and the end result is still better than skrillex.
