I went to Hobby Link Japan to compair the price of Henkei Astrotrain with the price at BBTS. At HLJ they say he's been DISCONTINUED!!!!! WTF is going on? Is this a mistake by HLJ? I mean he just came out last month. Is Takara trying to start another "E-hobby Astrotrain" situation?

On HLJ discontinued means, "We got all we're going to get right now."

Even when I bought the Henkei Astrotrain to photograph for my site (cheap plug), it seemed like there weren't many on the racks - maybe 3 when I got there. Yesterday I was in Yodobashi Camera in Shinjuku, and there was like 2 Astrotrains and hundreds of those God-awful Beast Wars "reissues".

I got two coming tomorrow from BBTS, wasn't gonna make that mistake again. I don't know why they wouldn't restock, as it is mass release there, but who knows? Guess we will see. I'd advise getting one while you still can.

It doesn't mean that Astrotrain has already come and gone, never to be seen again the way the eHobby version was. It's just part of HLJ's annoying categories of in-stock status. Plus, Takara-Tomy is already going to re-release the first wave of Henkei figures later this month. If Astrotrain really was selling out, he'd be back.

others have summed up most of this, but what Discontinued means for them is "We got our order, they are all gone now. Takara is not producing more at this time, and not making more available for us to restock with". It doesn't mean there might not be more made available later, but the production of the figure and it's availability is, indeed, discontinued.

Anyone do some comparison shopping and fine the cheapest place for henkei astrotrain?

I have a pile of loot going for me at BBTS with it, but maybe it's cheaper elsewhere?

Well, you already missed the cheapest I knew. :lol  You could try Ryan at Fan2Fan, although his preorder page doesn't have Astrotrain anymore. He does have Hot Rod on preorder for $18 plus shipping from Japan, to give you an idea of what it might cost, but it'll probably be more expensive than that.

The further away you order from Japan, the more expensive it gets.

Guys, Henkei Astrotrain is now in stock at HLJ again. Go forth and order!

I got my information about the Henkei re-release from HLJ itself.

I just clicked your link & it took me to the Bumblebee page

Anyway, I got my Astrotrain from HLJ yesterday. I've been complaining about them changing their stuff to "discontinued" for months now. They totally screwed me out of the black Incinerator. My order was sitting there & they changed it to "discontinued" & then cancelled my order. They usually change most Transformers to "discontinued" the same day or week of it's release (especially Masterpiece). So now,for me, it's pre-order only. I don't even bother looking on their site after the release date has come & gone.

Yeah. Because I was intentionally linking to Bumblebee, to answer Trailbreaker77's question. Astrotrain's link is at the top of the page.
