We raised over 300 dollars for the CFF and I got almost enough to do another auction.



OK over the next few fays i will email for a final time those that offered to donate with my address. Some I have updates on others ignored my emails so far. Thats not nice at all. I will not bash those that dropped off the list but you will be removed from the donations list.

The deadline is coming up and i ask that those wonderful people working on customs for this please finish it up anf get them mailed to me. Over the next few days or so I will send out a mass email reminder to everyone. I want to have them at least a week+ before the auctions go live so I can sort everything and take mass pics of everything.

I also want to personally thank everyone that has given. This has meant so much to me. Thank you.

On one last note i have someone that may be able to help with the html, but it is not set in stone. ANYONE out there can help with that??


Hello everyone. This is my WIP thread for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). The CFF is a non profit organization that researches a cure and new meds for CF patients, Helps with medicines for those in need, and well as supports hospitals and families that deal with the disease on a regular basis. They are one of the few charity groups that uses less then 20% of the donations for operating costs. The rest goes to research and aid. What is Cystic Fibrosis??? Glad you asked. It is a genetic disease that causes the body to produce thick sticky mucus throughout the body. This causes the person to be severally prone to lung sickness and have digestive problems. Before the CFF came along the average life span of someone with CF was under 18. That's right it was once known as a child killer. Thanks to the CFF though that average life span has grown to 25 and now recently even 35. Now that may seem like leaps and bounds which it is, but 35 is still young.

Why is this important to me? Simple in April of '94 my youngest sister passed away at the age of 8 just 8 days after my 18th birthday. She died of Cystic Fibrosis. She would have been 25 on this Dec 19th. My other younger sister ( I am the oldest of 4) also has CF. She is 31 and takes over 40 meds and daily breathing treatments to keep her alive. So every year or two I do something to raise money for the CF Foundation in their honor/memory. May is national CF awareness month so I will be starting an auction on April 29th (day of her passing) that will run for 7-10 days into May. 100% of the money raised will go to the CFF. And as Purple is the color of CF please wear purple or a purple ribbon in May.

The theme: CHUG for a Cure
Classics style Transformers get together and deck themselves out in Purple to be auctioned off to support the CFF. Basically any toy that will fit in with WFC/G1/classics style will work. They just need a purple deco. Autobots and Decepticons both are welcome. You could do Sideswipe with purple stripes.   As long as it works. I have a friend that is doing a PCC combiner in a classics theme. I would love a Prime and Megs pop up for the auction. hint hint
If you plan to do a custom for the auction PLEASE let me know what toy(s) you will be doing. I would love to have a wide variety with no doubles.

Now my first custom will be Thrust. He may be a coward at heart but he will deck out in Purple for a good cause. This is a very early WIP pic. I took him apart and sanded down the joints and rub areas, and got the base coat on.

dude, you know I am in. i gave you my word back when you first had the idea. Any time my customs can help a charitable cause, I am in. As busy as I am, however - I haven't gotten back to you w/ the details.

Just appoint me a custom/character and a deadline.

 

Hmm. I don't how you feel about fan-made characters, but I have an old purple Autobot called Whiteburn who's loosely based on the G1 Sideswipe mould, the hankering to make a 'bash of him, and two partially-junked Universe Sunstreakers.

What do you reckon..?

I just checked, slightly worried we were going to wind up with similar looking figs!  

No such fear; most of mine's being done in a much darker purple (and a lot of what's left will be a much lighter purple). They're looking very cool.

My Girlfriend is willing todo her first custom job (repaint into a female stealthfighter) the entry for my GF is permanent!!

For myself I want to create a Tracks out of RID Prowl and Rodimus out of RID Sideburn using parts only from eachother and that minicon jet for donating parts

WP, your repaints are looking great.  
I'm gonna recommend renaming your Thrust custom, though, just for fun. I'm not sure offhand if there have ever been any lavender Thrust-style Seekers in the background in any medium, but if not there totally should have been.  

 

LOL!! Funny enough I have a smaller KO G1 purple thrust about the same color. it was what gave the the idea for the customs to begin with. If I get a chance i will take pics of it next to my G1 thrust.

Glad you liek them so far. I got Red Alert done which is funny given I started him after thrust. I will post pics when he cures enough to transform.

 

Well i got thrust finished. I got Drift taken apart to start on him. I will actually be dying his white parts. I will post pics tomorrow hopefully.
