Since I don't want to create a new thread for every single one of my illustrations I decided to collect them in in this one, unless there is a good reason to have a seperate thread for them. And yes, technically they aren't all 'sketches', but I like the way it sounds. :)

A 'commissioned' illustration of G1 Huffer I'm currently working on:

A graffity style drawing of my favourite seeker:

1, your hands are great, can never get 'bot hands correct. 2, the foreshortening is well done. 3, i love the skywarp pic, its just great in many ways. However for the huffer one i think the lower legs are a bit too thick.

Thanks. It's really just a matter of practice though. Just to give you an idea of what a difference persistence makes, here is my very first Transformers illustration thats just barely a year old:

    1. I have the awesome pics by Don Figueroa to thank for that, there's muxh to be learned just by studying his drawings.
    2. I'd kinda disagree, there's a lot of cheating going on. If his limbs were transparent it would become apparent that they don't really line up. I guess it speaks for the overall effect of the picture that nobody seems to notice - just like the missing Nullrays. :)
    3. Thanks, and yeah, I've had a hard time with Huffers design and posture. He's more of a small and grumpy character, and I have a tendency to make my TFs quite bulky and with heroic poses, which isn't really fitting for good ol' Huffer.

You should, I checked out some of the stuff on your website. Very cool!

Just added him to the first post. ;)

Ok, here are some work in progress shots of the pic I'm working on right now. It's another candidate for a convention print and it's going to be a group shot. However, I'll draw each element seperately, and here is the pencil line art for the first element:

I draw all my stuff on 11x17" drawing paper, that's why I'm doing the current piece in several elements. This way I can get the maximum amount of details in. And here is the next element:

Just did a rough layout test to see if the composition and color scheme works:

I can't tell you how long it took me to finish Huffer because it was quite a long and drawn out process with many pauses inbetween. I did quite a lot of different sketches to get the character design right, some of them looked just too badass.

What i can tell you is that I worked on Cyclonus for 5 hours and on Unicron for roughly 4 hours. :)

Here's a first try at coloring Cyclonus. I'm not quite happy with the way he turned out. Guess I'll add some more deep black shadows:
