Not much here, jsut a repaint of cyclonus.

I painted him with metallic purple and drybrushed him a bit, and added some detail. I think he looks pretty cool.

It's hard to capture his appearance with the camera, he looks a bit different in person.

    Anyways, thought I would share.

    I'll post alt. pictures tomorrow.

    thanks tony,

the metallic purple is actually a cheap acrylic paint i found at walmart months ago. it's like $0.97 for 2 ounces. Very cheap but has a great look to it. The brand is called Folk Art and the color is Metallic Amethyst.

    Your swindle looks awesome btw!

Thanks bro! So Folk art huh? I used to use the stuff many moons ago on minis but haven't been back to them since. How is it in terms of durability? Did you brush it one BTW or airbrush? Stuff is pretty smooth.

the durability is pretty good. i'm going to add some future to him, so that should boost it a little more.

I handpainted him and it took forever. I had to apply about 6 coats of purple, ughh. But it was def. worth it, and he was a lot of fun to paint.

This looks really nice. I'm also glad about the positive results from using Folkart paint. I was having some misgivings about this brand myself, although I recently tried out some Ceramcoat slate gray from Michael's for priming and it's worked very well. I might have to stock up on some of these bottles.

Coolness, hand painting is tough but you did a superb job. Sounds like Folk art is stepping up the quality.

The paintjob is perfection, thyvipera. I also agree that some Folk Art paints (and the other brands that Wal-Mart carries) have some great colors and I really like the textures they give. I have quite a few different colors for eyes, priming smaller figures, and some different shades of purple for a Shockwave I plan to finish up (someday).

Excellent job though. I enjoy all of your customs work, but I think this is one of the smoothest and best paintjobs you've done. Keep up the great work, bro.

thanks for the comments everyone. i'm glad you guys like him. He was a lot of fun to paint.

I'm thinking about doing another cylonus repaint, and having him gold, as if he's from a Golden Age or something, either that or he fell into a pool of electrum :)

    thanks again everyone
