ive had this toy for a while, and i saw someone do an awesome repaint of this guy the other day so i thought i would try it.
im painting all the grey parts silver, then doing a black wash over it to make it look battle worn-ish. and i put his head on a ball joint.
so far i have the torso done (minus one arm) and the legs are almost finished
sorry for the blury pics, i dont have a very good camera.
advice and constructive criticism is appreciated

 

Your carpet make's it look like he's bleeding  .

 

Your idea and work so far are good. I think I would also suggest a purple wash as well as the dark purple of the toy itself may find you with a toy that really has no purple hue at all with all of your work on it.

i was kind of thinking the same thing about the purple, but i cant find purple paint at any of my local stores.

 

I'm gonna have to order paint online as my local hobby stores have all closed shop. Sounds like you may have to end up doing the same.
