The TV show seems pretty good. Better than what I expected.

Why do you think the toys are bad? I've not had any experience with them, so I'm just curious.

Yeah, that doesn't look good at all. I wonder what Hasbro was thinking before deciding to release that.

It has some cool characters, I like Nova storm, Thundercracker and Shadowstriker a lot. but the show itself and story isn't that good at all :/

I can't get past the two first episodes. The writing is low tier when it's not garbage, Windblade's dub is barely trying and this Bumblebee is simply the worst. And that's a shame because I like the character designs.

Also, I'm seriously tired of seeing WB and Bee everywhere. That won't prevent me from enjoying the movie (hopefully), but I wish other bots would get the spotlight for a change, like Hotshot or Elita-friggin'-One.

A Decepticon lead would be nice...

You mean a series told from the perspective of the Decepticons or about a rogue 'Con who joins the Autobots but keeps his original insignia, like Dinobot? Cos I would be down with the latter.

The perspective of a Decepticon. A rogue would really be no point cause that's just the same. I mean in most series and especially in Cyberverse as well bots do some bad stuff too but it's justified cause their main characters often. Which is kinda stupid.

There is some legitimate potential in this show so far, particularly in the way it incorporates ideas from IDW (the existence of colonies like Caminus and Velocitron; the origins of the Decepticon movement; MacCadam's) and does a bit of world-building of its own (Cube). But I think it's hampered by the weak framing device involving Bumblebee losing all of his memories and needing to re-experience them. Every moment Windblade and Bumblebee spend in Cyberverse talking about his memories is time that could be used to better flesh out the story. There's not a moment to waste here, either, when each episode is all of 10 minutes. The end result is that we spend so little time with any character other than WB or BB that it's impossible to invest in any of them. And the pace of the storytelling is so rushed we barely scratch the surface of any particular memory or get any sense of dramatic weight or importance. Everything is accelerated and disjointed.

Episode 8 is the prime example of where this all goes wrong. We're introduced to an entire new planet and a character we're told is Bumblebee's friend. Ten minutes later everything is lost to cosmic rust, and an extraordinarily graphic death ensues. The episode hasn't spent enough time to earn the dramatic impact it was aiming for, but fear not: it ends with some goofy shit for laughs, so it didn't matter anyway. Just awful.

There's a lot of fan service at play, and the series could do so much with the grander canon it's built on. But it needs to ditch the "Bumblebee recovering his memories" gimmick yesterday, and the writing, pacing, and tone have to get much more consistent.

Just my two cents after taking in the first 10 episodes.
