You just know there's a thesaurus on one of the guy's desk with names like "Umbral Blaster".

I just figure the guy was just playing City of Heroes while he was working and almost got caught.

Boss: *Pokes head in office* "Hey Jim, did you figure out a new name for that minicon team yet?"

Jim *Looks down at monitor and reads 'Primary Power Pool: Umbral Blast'* "Um, I was thinking, um...the Umbral Blaster?"

    Boss: "Brilliant!"

Heck ALL the minicons (except the Giant Planet ones) look like crap. The Giant Planet ones still look marvelous! Can't wait to get those three..

Umbra is the Latin for ghost. So, that'd make the Umbral Blaster a nice, linguistic counterpoint to the Requiem Blaster which has similar connatations in its name.

Though, does that make it a Ghost busting cannon? Perhaps it's something the Decepticons whipped together to make sure a certain ghost seeker doesn't bother them.

It's the first time I'm actually considering buying Minicons. Those Giant Planet Minicons look good. :thumb

As for Ransack GTS....hm..I already have a Ransack but that color scheme.....hm....I must buy it. :thumb

Deep Space Team/Street Action Team... Good; now I have their team names to list them under, considering I don't plan on owning these sets... Now I just need to get some info on the second wave team names; where's a link to the old bios for Kobushi, Landslide Est All.

Ransack GTS and Giant Planet Mini-Con team, definate buys on my list; RGTS just screams own me and new Mini-Con sculpts beat repaints any day of the week.

You know I hope the Mini-Con class gets new sculpts soon too; even if they're just repaints of the Recon and Giant Planet teams because quite frankly the Armada molds have outlived their usefulness in my books... Unless Hasbro was to do something smart and release former partner Mini-Cons that would be cool.

I LOVE the space team repaint, Scrap Iron looks awesome! He's good all the right colours in all the right places, and that checkerboard design is kinda neat. Backblast is also cool, nice Blastoff colours.

Perceptor looks... funky. Never liked the molds to begin with, but I hope they grow on me. Grindor is the only one I like.

I think Blastcharge is supposed to be one of those Trucks that haul the Space Shuttles/Rockets from one point to another.

Yup, spot on with Blastcharge. In fact that mold has three little indents on the flatbed which let you attach the rocket to the back so he can do just that!

It's unfortunate that the Deep-Space Team has to come with members of Energon Perceptor repaints. :(  Meh, at least I don't have the molds already. *shrugs*

Giant Planet Mini-Cons will be mine, oh yes. Ransack GTS still looks like a pass to me. (At least the Planet Key's painted this time.)

Methinks someone needs to proof-read Backblast's bio again (or at least clarify the 'he' in the second sentence)...

Anywho...I actually don't mind the combined Umbral Blaster, so I'll probably be picking this set up for that alone. Hopefully, they've done something to make the combined Blaster less floppy. The Street Action Team still look terrible (and are the worst Minicon molds), but Perceptor's colour scheme seems somewhat cohesive, at least.

Ransack GTS doesn't look too bad but, shortpacked or not, the pre-order prices are insane; I'll pick it up if I happen to run across it in the store. Already have the Giant Minicons pre-ordered and really looking forward to their arrival.
