I dunno if this subject has been posted before, I I can't find a similar subject after a cursory search through threads.

I was looking at my brand new Cybertron Ransack, yesterday, and I couldn't help wondering why the gap between the rear wheel and the body was so wide.

I thought about it, and I've come to the conclusion that the rear wheel mounts have been assembled upside down! I've poached a picture from BWTF.com and edited it to show what I mean...

    The original

    And the photoshop

See what I mean? With the lower wheel he looks level, and more swish (IMO). I'm thinking I might knock out the pins holding the assembly in place and flip them over.

    Thoughts?

Yes they should be flipped around as that's the correct way. The concept art shows them this way and they're like that in the show. Why all of them are assembled that way, including all Gaskets is a mystery to me.

Crazy, I'll have to do it for real one day myself, it looks much better in the "proper" position.

Yeah, someone posted instructions on how to make the change a few months back. Haven't gotten around to it though.

It just takes a bit of time..... the pins are only threaded for the first 1/8 of an inch or so, but they are a tight fit for that 1/8 of an inch.

You need to tap the pins on the underside. Make sure Ransack is held firmly in position, and that his feet are not going to absorb any impact when you hit the pins - as the pins need to be hit pretty hard to get them out.

You'll need a pin punch, a hammer, and a good deal of patience.

If you soak the leg parts with the pins in extremely hot water for about 1 minute, the pins come out easily. I couldn't get them out either until I tried the hot water trick.

I did the mod, but now the wheels rub on the tabs that fold out to make it stand. So now I need to sand those down a bit.

Alternately, a table vise is needed to secure the parts in a solid manner. Then you can smack the pins out with a small screwdriver + mallet. Use a rag or paper towel to protect the plastic from vise marks.

you don't have to sand anything down!!! yikes, don't do that. the back of the "feet" with a lil pressure can be pushed down in the gap of the legs, thereby allowing the wheel free turning, no rubbing! once you've done it once, they go in easy and its of course no sweat to still flip it out when TFing him.

It's hard to do, but it's worth it. He looks so much sleeker.

I've done it now, the first pin was a bit a of a pain, I was tap tap tap... tap tap tap... BANG BANG BANG!

The second pin came out easy though, but only because I was using a little more welly. Now Ransack looks the business!
