    Heavy Barrel - Transformers Wiki

Heavy Barrel is a Mini-Con from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

    Hi-diddly-ho, minirinos!

Heavy Barrel is a Mini-Con hailing from a long-dead colony world, rescued by the Decepticons and caught up in the events caused by the Unicron Singularity. He is perhaps the cheeriest, most friendly robot in all of existence, which is incredibly unnerving to friend and foe alike. People can at least comprehend the crazed cackling of a hyper-violent sadist in battle. Polite conversation and compliments during barrages? Not so much. It even creeps Buzzsaw out.[

yeah thats actually what his character page on tfwiki.net says

is it just me or does anyone else think the guy comes across as being a ned flanders minicon lol?

the guy must have a whole lot of faIth in primus to survive on a long dead colony world and to have a cheerful attitude among the decepticons lol

    *reads wiki article*

Nope. Not Ned Flanders. Ned Flanders is a man of God.

Heavy Barrel is allied with the group who is pretty much going AGAINST God (God in this context being Primus, obviously)

Ehh.. that's one aspect of Flanders. You could also say it's not Flanders because Flanders has a mustache. Or Flanders is made of flesh and bone. etc etc...

Ah, okay. I haven't watched (or really cared about) the Simpsons in years, so the only things I remembered about Ned was that he did that weird "hey-didly-something-something" greeting and that he was one of the more religious oriented characters in the show.

It's one aspect, but it's his largest aspect. Probably the only one that you can't exclude when pointing out similarities to say someone is "like him".

i'd say his overwhelming good nature is right up there with his hardcore religious nature.

Well, if it's up there with it, then it would be the other aspect you can't leave out. So to be like Ned Flanders they'd have to be overly nice AND a religious zealot.
