You guys must have run into some lemons, maybe, because mine is standing in work mode, holding Sparkdrinker in his left hand (and only his left hand) high above his head, sort of victoriously, and he's perfectly stable.
I finished customizing my Metroplex with paint where it was needed and it looks so much better, I added gold on Sparkdrinker where it was missing and even painted over the gold that was already there so it would all match. On the shovels on his feet I added Navy Blue paint and Nail Polish Base and Top Coat to make it shine. The Navy Blue doesn't exactly match the Blue paint that is already there but it is very close. Here's a few pics, keep in mind that I'm still a padawan at paint customizing:
Metroplex is a good "futz around with the robot mode" robot. I find I like the "work" mode better than the super-lanky battle mode.
hey, thats me! yes, he is strangely compelling in person. like its calling out to you. buy me..... BUY ME.....!!!!!
Almost every store in my town that carries TF's has Metro in stock, but every single one of them I've seen is riddled with paint chips, overspray, and bleeding. I've come to the conclusion that I'm cursed. Anyway, how's the paint on the Metro's purchased by everybody else?
Well, I just picked him up. First off... kudos to the designer who said "Alright, he's gotta have ratchet joints, obviously, but really guys - make em tight." This guy's quite hefty, especially when you add Sparkdrinker to the weight. In the end, I'm glad I got him, but I don't think he was worth all $43 I spent. His regular bot mode is, as we all know, quite lanky. Would have helped if his arms were a little longer. I guess that's really just the fault of the transformation. However, his towering height is pretty impressive. This is easily the largest transformer I have ever owned. The articulation is top knotch, though a few of his upper body ratchets could be a little tighter. Guess they got tired of tightening them joints while they were working on the legs. The colors... well, I don't see anything spectacular about them, but they're certainly appropriate. Actually, I think I would have preferred a grayer main body color (like GF Vector Prime)... he's supposed to be a construction worker, he should be FILTHY. So while the white works for the toy, for the character, it's not as appropriate. While looking at galleries, I thought I wouldn't mind the alt mode as much in person, since I'd know exactly which parts are which... which parts in the alt mode become which parts in the bot mode... maybe he wouldn't look like he's on his elbows and knees. Well, he DOES look better in person, but not as much as I had hoped. Back to big bot mode. It DOES look kinda funky. But then we should remind ourselves, this is a robot. He doesn't need to be perfectly proportional as human beings are. Plus... with Sparkdrinker fully extended and being held upright... damn, he's quite the imposing bot. I give him a B+.
Mine's fine. As for my thoughts on him: He's got two nice bot modes and one potentially good alt mode. It just needs another bot to fill out and expand it by combining. And perhaps a few mini-con teams that are designed to do so as well.
I've found that he actually looks pretty good in Fortress Maximus' Fortress mode, the one where the legs are out like in the splits. have the feet be parallel to the legs and to the "inside" of the fortress... arms to the side, but bent upwards like two towers. if you do it right, the guns on his head point towards his leg "walls" and the ones on his shoulders point to the rear. you can open the blade on sparkdrinker and have the minicon on the bucket, and you have a revolving gun emplacement that can fire two directions at once, or you can bend the bucket around and have both ends firing the same direction. a nice bonus is that all those minocon posts point upwards so you can cover him up with the "targetmaster" minicons and you end up with a fortress that looks impenetrable!
The paint on mine is fine. (Sorry about the internal rhyme, but sometimes you just can't help it. ) There are a couple of very light scratches on the top of his shoulders, from the twisties that dragged over them, but they aren't visible most of the time. No overspray problems, bleeding, or chips. The fan modes were posted a few pages back. Like RL, I kind of prefer the Fort Max mode to the standard alt mode, which really isn't very good. I posted one of my long-ass reviews earlier, and it's up in the articles section, if anyone wants to read more.
same problem here. you can try tape to around increase traction hinge area so definitely a design issue there. maybe we got lemons but all they really had to add hooks at the tabs.
I'd just like to say that all of you who say his vehicle mode looks like the robot bent down on all fours are full of it. It's much closer the the fetal posistion. By the way KA love the signature.
nah, its like he's sitting down on the ground, but his legs are long so his knees come up to his head
that makes hella sense. his in the fetal position, in denial of his non-existant alt mode. i need to get work on my lumberjack origin mini-comic where upon being found by the bot's, they ask him what does he transform into, and lumber jack goes "what's an alt mode?". and upon seeing lumberjack find his transformation, says to lumberjack "dude, you should just stay here in the forest.".
I need a site with all the fan modes for Cybertron Metroplex. I just picked him up the other day and he's a great robot but lackster alt mode.
I picked him up 2 days ago at my toys r ushes great love him but i need a fan mode link where it shows em
