Yeah, I kinda forgot that this guy existed! (I wasn't really collecting while TF Cybertron was happening)

    tfwiki.net/wiki/Metroplex

Anyway, in robot mode, he looks like he would make a great Classics Metroplex. Does anyone here display him with their Classics Autobots? If so, I'd love to see a photo!

I mean, he's designed as an homage, but I don't think he's sufficiently Metroplexual.

also DO NOT USE THE WIKIA

I heard Aaron Archer hates this mold.

    Is that true and why?

Probably because Takara designed most of the AEC molds.

I'd love to see him repainted with a new head as Fort Max. I've seen a few customs that went WAY beyond the call of duty, but I think a simple head change and paint job would be sufficient. Put him in a two pack with a G1 repaint of Energon/Cybertron Scorponok and we've got a great duo!

Off topic, but were movie toys, Animated and the actual Prime toys sans weapons also a joint effort?

I totally display this guy with my "classics." He can make for a real cool display if you're into mixing

    Metroplexual.

    Nobody thought that was funny.

I don't even know what I'm doing on these boards.

Yes. Every main line since Armada has been a joint effort. Hasbro does a lot of the initial designs, and Takara Tomy does a lot of the engineering. There's back and forth communication and work all through the development process.

I don't have it displayed with my Henkei figures yet. That's only because I've been sluffing on repainting the thing.

Basically, the list of toys that weren't a joint effort would be shorter than the list of toys that were.

There's various Japan-only toys that are Takara-only developments (Robot Masters, Hybrid Style, Music Label, Device Label, Sports Label, some Masterpiece toys, the Arms Micron figures etc.).

And a few Hasbro toys that are Hasbro-only developments (Energon Kicker & High Wire, Energon Grimlock & Swoop, Energon Alpha Quintesson, Star Wars Transformers, Marvel Crossover Transformers, Titanium Series, Movie Ultimate Bumblebee).

With Hasbro toys, there are two ways to tell if it was a Hasbro-only effort or not:
    a) The toy itself has both "Hasbro" and "Takara" (or "Tomy" these days) copyright markings.
    b) The packaging sports a small "Manufactured under license from Takara [or "Tomy" these days]" note.

    I lol'd. Good one.

I got this toy when it came out. Been the centerpiece of my Cybertron collection ever since. That is, the centerpiece of the top shelf of a bookshelf organized by planet (with the Giant Planet bots on the very top)
