OK, so some friends suggested that I take pictures and share them of this WIP. Its my first major custom, my last biggest custom was a scrapmetal, so please be gentle *L*. I made this digibash last year before the Cybertron version of VP even came out. This is what I'm actually bashing, but with a change in the helmet.






Currently, I'm just finishing the two primary colors (the final secondary color is drying). I've also dyed the transparent parts. I still have to do all the small paint aps with other colors, the face, helmet, clearcoating, and I plan to age the crap outta him since A3 is a REALLY old 'bot   Here's a quick tease:







I'd like to age him like that cybertron perceptor from a few weeks ago if I can learn and manage it all... I'm also tinkering with the idea of a small gash that would go from helmet through eye (but not damage the actual eye) for some "war damage" but I havn't decided yet.

Looking cool man! I was planning on doing the same thing with my VP once the gold version is released. My color scheme is a little different, and I plan on sculpting a completely different head, but yours looks like it is really gonna look slick. Love the 'stache on the digi-bash.

 

thanks   the helmet will be different too though, I'm going to add a smaller version of his head crest to it. I say smaller, cause if it stuck out as much as his did in the show, the head wouldnt' be able to go into its spot in alt mode.

 

Damn, bro! That red paint looks slick! You definitely picked out the prefect shade for him, looks very regal. Very much looking forward to more WIP pics!

I must ask, whatever did you use for those gorgeous gold apps?

 

yeah , I LOVE the gold, its much better than I'd hoped it would be, its so shiny and colorful! its testors metallic gold #1144.  

 

I always thought Alpha Trion had more red than that. Or at least he was purple instead of blue. Still looks good though.

 

he was purple instead of blue... but if you look at the screen caps, he is really pretty gaudy LOL that being said, I mainly chose colors that have been used by many a royal family. I figured that was pretty appropriate for A3. He really does have a lot of red on him... the "connector" pieces are red now and in the digibash they're left black... the cool thing, and it was unintended... in bot mode, the wings make sort of a purple cape, which the cartoon character had..

Looking good so far. On the kitbash, the red and blue kind of clash a little. I'm sure you can handle that better with the real deal though.
