Believe it or not, that Grimlock is a lot of fun! Just... Not as Grimlock
Really like the look of that Shockwave. Hopefully it'll be easy get online somewhere.
I'd like to see some animal & non-conventional alt modes in this line...like give me a non-Tantrum bull-bot...and...a bear-con...or...a hearse or something...for me things like that could be cool in a line like this...
So, how much is this going to set me back? Need it for the CHUG collection.
$15-17, depending on if Walgreens carries them.
$25-30 each if you have to go through BBTS.
Hoping for a Walgreens release then.
You're dead to me.
Post of the Day.
Knee joints are not premium, holy fuck.
I've been bested; thread won.
When will Shockwave gonna have a proper deluxe o voyager release under CHUG line?
That Cyber Battalion is a pure G1 Homage in Bot mode.
I'm sure he's gonna get one in the near future.
Hasbro should take note of it.
- If it is of the same height as the Megatron:
Ok, you’re right. Knee joints are not premium. But the point still stands. This is a budget/entry-level figure. Attacking the design for accomplishing its design goal is silly. As fans, we’re sophisticated enough to see that Hasbro does target multiple audiences and price points.
At least from my opinion, the lack of knee joints is not desirable but is also not a design flaw. Including knees in this line is more of a “lucky opportunity” in my mind.
The weird thing is $17 is still seems a lot for a budget toy... Ideally for impulse buying you would think it would be $10 or less?
were it available at regular retail like walmart or target it would be cheaper. but everything is marked up a smidge at walgreens
Nobody is attacking it for being an entry level figure. People are attacking it because the bar for an entry level figure is too low. Even an entry level figure should aspire to a few very basic points of articulation, which this figure hits all of except the knees.
I would be fine with upscale legend class figures, they have all the articulation I need....would even that be too expensive?
I love the Cyber Battalion figs! Prowl was awesome, and Jetfire/Skyfire also felt pretty inspired! I guess they're supposed to be simple, upscaled legion-ish toys, but their simplicity is really refreshing, and the scale feels very "toy"! I guess I'm less a fan of MP perfections than I am of these simple TOYS.
A little bit shocked to see a Shockwave with a GUN MODE! OH NOES! It's a pretty rare thing - especially at a scale where he can almost replicate a "real" laser gun (I guess I'm praying no shootouts ensue over this decision; Hasbro knows what I'm talking about ).
Sideswipe as a BB repaint/retool is pretty disappointing. I guess I'll get it? But why not do a CLIFFJUMPER retool that might make more sense?
Wait for a sale, then! Walgreens discounts TF toys from time to time. There's really no reason to pay $17+ if you don't want to; they stock these pretty well, so it's not like they're difficult to find.
Shockwave has a space ship mode like foc, not a gun mode
