It looks like Combiner Wars Shockwave has grown up. He looks cool. I might get him.

The great thing about this site is that there is always someone who will help you get something at little over cost. The ONLY reason I missed out on Predaking/Ricochet is because I didn't know about its release. Nevermore would have gladly helped out. Once these actually hit shelves, ask around.

Everything wrong with the fandom currently RIGHT HERE. Isn't there a KO forum somewhere since you don't seem to want to support HasTak at all?

If you ask me, it’s definitely a symptom...
... of what’s wrong with Hasbro.

Nobody here is obligated to the corporation; we are nothing more than customers who are willing to shop elsewhere.

I buy what I like, and other than a few Legends figures, HasTak doesn't produce anything else I'd be interested in, seeing as how they just LOVE cutting corners. ;)

But a KO company outright copying a figure rather than engineering their own ISN'T cutting corners?

Look, I get the whole 3P thing, even if I don't partake myself. I get expecting God-tier toys since we aren't kids. But hoping for KOs simply because someone is a tightwad? lolno

If I buy a KO, it's gonna be because improvements have been made to a figure to make it better, not because it's cheaper. :)

    No improvements=no purchase from me.

I get the market for KO's that try to enhance a figure, but there's still something that rubs me the wrong way when a fan is quick to demand a KO so soon after a figure gets revealed.

Exactly. Why give us what they know we want (updated, articulated, gimmick free voyager seekers, Soundwave, Shockwave, Ironhide & Ratchet) when they can hit every other size class first; milking us for every possible cent til they finally relent, probably not til they know we're all 50 or 60 and it's their last chance to cash in before we all keel over dead!

Oh ho ho, those wily HasTak execs! They sure do know how to get ya with a funny practical joke... so, sooo hilarious. Ha. *sobs*

This isn't cutting corners, though. Cutting corners would be charging full voyager price for a voyager and skimping on the knees. This is a voyager for deluxe pricing...any cost-cutting is built in to the whole purpose of the figure to begin with.

That's a nice Shockwave...if you're looking to build your own Voyager Shockwave. Buy this guy and a Kre-o Shockwave set, and you'll be mostly set. You'll be limited only by your imagination! ;)

So 10% of HasTak's engineering goes into making some die cast parts on TR figures or OSing them, and that's okay. At least we've set the precedent.

Hate when weibo trolls us with only 1 mediocre pic...

I hope that Shockwave has hip rotation, but given the earlier Cyber Battalion guys didn't I'm guessing he won't....

Some people have these silly little things like "standards" for basic articulation. How strange of them to not just set the bar low and leave it there.

Ya know what this line needs?
    A Devastator.
HASBRO can re-tool the molds so that they are more hollow, removal of elbows and such...

Oh wait- that’s how The Constructicons were already!

So just re-release the Constructicons for this line of figures.

Holy moly! A non-premium figure getting criticized for not being premium! Disappointment and hilarity ensues...

I wasn't familiar with the Cyber Battalion line (or Hasbro's strategy for its existence) but I gave myself a quick tfwiki refresher on it and my conclusion is "yep, this is a budget line!" For a budget line, this Shockwave is pretty damn good. The only other figure in this line that barely musters any interest in me is Megatron but not really. This Shockwave works supremely well with its budget limitations and could almost pass for a Generations figure.

More pictures could lessen my enthusiasm but right now I'm a fan. What works is its "sharp" mold design and paint apps. The other CB figures really look budget because the simplistic transformation scheme is so obvious and the paint app limits stand out very harshly. This Shockwave has a top notch robot form and the alt-form looks good too. The original Shockwave design was simplistic to begin with so it has "natural" advantages when creating a new design that has such severe budget limitations.

I was wondering here if apart of what the instructions say those wings can be folded down in some way so they could attach and form sort of a handle so Shocky could have his classic altmode... If they don't I pretty much think this can be easily modified.

Maybe, but I'm betting he has an awesome submarine mode.
