I'm going to be doing a full articulation on my Shockwave soon, but the first thing that I wanted to try was making his wings into a Sixshot-style gun handle. This was a small project, but I fully documented it, because I think it involved a few fun techniques.
A few notes about the build- I used a T-square to cut my pieces at right angles, and wood carving tool to gouge the details out of the wings. I added pins to the outer wings to make them sturdier and sanded the hinges so that they can bend past where they normally go, and so that they can meet.
Materials are styrene sheet, wood repair epoxy putty, hardware store hinges, one small screw, and a brass rod. I got the brass rod at an art store in a bag of metal bits. Glue is Zap-A-Gap.

Thanks! I haven't seen that. I considered Lego, but I didn't have the right parts handy.
    Go for it!

Damn dude you put knees on him, that's pretty rad man. And bicep swivels how do you do that? (I'm old school when it comes to Transformers I been in it since the beginning but customizing it's not something I ever studied. But when I started collecting Cyber Battalion figures I REALLY thought I'd pay someone or learn, one day. Not just Shockwave, but Optimus Prime, Starscream, Jetfire, making Grimlock & Megatrons knees better ect ect. If you can help lmk :)

Thanks! I have to admit, he's been marooned on my bench for the last week while I figure out how I want to articulate his legs.

I got digging in my parts bin for a good pair of knees, and I found a set of legs that were a perfect fit- a Marvel crossover Wolverine Transformer truck.
They still needed a lot of trimming, and there were a few bumps on the crotch that I needed to cut off. I also needed to trim down the inner sides of the knee joints to get them in at the right angle. As of now, the thighs are pivoting in on the screws that I attached them with, but I'm going to need to make a more stable hinge system for them later.
I used the Dremel on this one digging out enough material in Shockwave's crotch to accommodate the block between Wolverine's leg pegs. It worked out pretty well, but I did make the holes where they connect a little too big, so the legs will pop off If I'm not careful. I used the flaps that cover the thighs in ship mode to space them as I attached them, and I got them lined up so that he is still transformable.

I almost forgot to mention that I added articulation to Shockwave's neck. I lopped off his head and added a small Revoltech joint in there. I just cut his head off and drilled out holes in each side.
