Sirtoys and Robottoybase have them if you're still interested.
TIL. MD Bright did that cover. I've always thought that was Sienkiewicz but in hindsight, given the chromework and tones on it, it's a no-brainer as it matches his work on Iron Man.
You could always combine this with Soundwave144's knee mod Heavy/Scratch: - Walgreens cyber battalion shockwave knee mod. That's what I did on mine. I did it the OP's way but I cut out the insides so that the Downshift parts can go up into the thighs and securely hot glued it in there after cleaning it out like Soundwave's instead of to the end of the thigh like OP. Best of both worlds since you don't get the height change.
So I picked up another one from a local toyshop sale, I paid about 10USD for this one, that was such a real nice price...Well, I will be starting another one, but this time I'll be making a different altmode. I'm thinking about making a cybertronian tank mode as I didn't dig how a space gun mode would look for this mold. I will have to figure out some new parts to be used for knees articulations though as I don't have another Energon Dowshift to cannibalize for this project (I'll avoid balljoints). Wish me luck
This time I'll be posting all development pics of the project here. Stay tunned
Phase one - disassembling and cutting of the elbow portions for articulation.
There are 3D printed knees for 6$ or so on Shapeways that might help: Knee Joint For Cyber Batallion Shockwave by WindbladeZero on Shapeways
I actually saw those but according to the reviews they have very poor quality.
There is a thread on the Shapeways knees, apparently they have been improved after testing recently, you can ask the designer directly, he said they work well now, are a modest and functional addition and are not that expensive...work in progress, but very positive....I hope to get the final version once testing is complete.

But, does it have ankel articulation?!
Definitely need ankle articulation on this puppy.
Here's the Shapeways knees. Took some sanding, reshaping using heat, and pulling them out of the garbage once or twice, but finally got them to fit properly
. The dude just made another update addressing the issues I had to go through.
Awesome creation, but I only read bad reviews about it. I just don't dig the way they bend and create that empty space in the front part of the knees but there is no other way to make detachable pieces like that. They actually look infinitely better than those unnecessary exaggerated long Deep Space Arsenal knees though.
This seems to be virtually impossivel considering that we are talking about a budget figure that does not even have knees articulation. They can surely be customized but it just woudn't worth the work as the stock feet pieces are already angled enough to simulate this articulation.
They are looking great now, but I can only imagine the amount of work you put into them to make 'em fit and work nicely. Same thing I read on the reviews, but considering the price this might turn into a good option.
Initially I got them just to hold me over until I finished moving and unpack so I can get to the rest of my parts bins and tools and all.
Excellent work, and it's nice to see you around again sharing your work.
I'd love to see you make a full blown tutorial of your work /notsosubtlehint
Thank you man! I'm actually posting the updates on this new thread: Heavy/Scratch: - Cyber Battalion Shockwave Fully Articulated Vs. 2 And New Altmode W.I.P.
Your work looks really good in both places. What I'd like to see is describing each modification step so I can add it to Tutorials some way. A good write just assumes that someone has no clue what they're doing and you're kinda holding our hands while you take us step-by-step with each modification.
Thanks so much for sharing your work here!
