Decided to give him a better head and ditch the combiner backpack. Unfortunately because of how the base figure transforms, the head has to be removed to transform to alt mode. To counter this I placed a Lego piece inside a Kreo Optimus head and added an extra peg to alt mode to store the head. Yeah, it's visible but I didn't see other options at that point.

    3/1/18 UPDATE:
Added window decals to both modes and took more pictures in better lighting.

Great job! Nice to see CW Op getting love after getting dissed in favor of Classics Prime.

It's a shame you ditched the backpack because you could've used the Ultra head balljoint and hid the new head in it.

I did think about that earlier, but had already hacked it w/ an attempt at an earlier custom.

Plus, I felt the Ultra head mounting kept the head too far above the chest for my liking.

I forgot to mention in the original post that I also changed his forearms to Motormaster's. I needed Prime's arms on my Menasor because they snap in better.

Nice work! I'm digging the reflection on the windshields.

You could always use a Titanmaster Optimus head?

I'm confused. What is stopping you from just making the new head fit in the space for the old one?

The new head is big enough that it won't flip around like the old head does -- at least not without modding the torso more than I wanted to do.

These are the heads available to me at the moment:
