Figured I would combine my previous feet upgrade set into a thread dedicated to various parts I've been making for CW Megatron since I've been focusing on designing bits and pieces for him lately.

    Feet upgrade thread:
Heavy/Scratch: - Reasonably sized feet upgrade for CW Megatron

    UPDATE:

Upgrade parts now available on Shapeways:

Ultraman Zoffy's R&D Lab by ultramanzoffy - Shapeways Shops

Last night I took some measurements and designed some shoulder gap filler plates, which was my next pet peeve after his unfinished looking feet. These tab into 3 different spots on the sides of his chest, don't cause any loss of shoulder range of motion/articulation, and don't shift around at all when moving the shoulders and arms. Helps make his upper body look much less awkward.

That looks pretty nice. Do your upgrades need to come off for transformation? I'm also curious about that cannon. Two out of two doctors approve.

Yeah, there's no way to mod this figure in these spots that would integrate into the transformation that I would bother trying to do. The cannon is from Hero Mashers Megatron; I keep forgetting to paint it. Lol

There's a part on thingiverse for the shoulders you might want to check out :)

The creator of that part showed it here on the TFW boards way back, but it doesn't actually work great since it requires a complete disassembly of the shoulder to get on and off, and the arms are basically disconnected from the body making Megatron unable to transform. I tried them out back then and they compromised the figure too much for my taste.

No worries, to each their own. Never knew he did a V2 with some filler, they do make a difference. Regardless it's good to see this figure still getting some attention. Just wish there was a way to do more with those shoulders without sacrificing too much.

I think whatever method folks choose to fill in that shoulder area, it's an improvement no matter what. =) I loved this figure since it's initial release and actually have 4 CW Megatrons (2 kos), and it's very fun finally being able to address the small shortcomings he has. Even after all these years since it came out, I still enjoy thinking up new ways to mod this Megatron.

Paint those shoes silver and you're good to go!

Yup. I actually want to pick up some silver filament to skip the painting altogether! Lol

Is he still transformable with those shoulder parts installed? Same question for the shoes...

I keep getting this question...lol. No they're only for bot mode. They come right off and go right back on easy when you need them.

Haha, that one still has a few problems to solve. I'll get back to you on that. Folks need to realize that Shapeways is pretty pricey too. Any attempt at making that Liokaiser frame available for sale will likely be more expensive than the Hasbro set itself. Lol
