OK, so I figure I want to try my first custom, and I've decided to go for something nice and easy - repainting Classics Starscream into Thundercracker. Ya know, ease myself into it, as it were.

my question is: what's the best way to do it? Disassemble the whole toy I guess, but how do you do that? I mean, obviously you can unscrew some parts, but what about the parts which are just "pegged" together (not sure how else to describe it, like bits of metal peg).

Also, what kind of paints would you use? I used to paint Games Workshop models, are those kind of paints any good, or would you need specific types? I guess you need to prime the toy first as well, so how do you avoid things like spraying the clear cockpits etc.?

So many questions... any help at all would really be appreciated :)

I'd go with Enamel paints from Humbrol or Revell :)
