This one was a HUGE labor of love! Changing this car from yellow to red was a very daunting task and the flame detailing just about killed me! I used a '08 Bumblebee body and Classics Jetfire head. I added custom exhaust pipes on each side of the car, as well as custom flame detailing. The exhaust pipes slide right out when he is transformed from car to robot.

    Away we go:

Yep.... he finished his as I was just beginning mine. I tried to make it as different as possible to both differentiate and highlight each one of ours. Not much more someone can do when Hot Rod has such a specific look.

Nice job! For some reason though, it reminds me of an updated version of the Repainted Armada Hot Shot. Still, very expertly done! A+!

Yours and Jin's are great to complement each other, I can see them replacing the original designs in the '86 movie

Now that is very well done. Love the look of the pipes and flame. They both turned out well.

And does that head actually fit when transformed? Seems to big.

It actually fits perfectly. All I needed to do was clip a small piece of plastic off from the underside of the hood and BAM it fit!

I am going to be 100% honest with you, the paint work is awesome, I love the flames and the color scheme, you did a really good job all around, but a G1 head just does not work (for me) on that body for some reason.

I like it, although that head doesn't say "Hot Rod" to me. I think it works well with the mold though.

I think that is definitely a nice piece of work. I never would have thought Jetfire's head would look so good on that mold.

Sounds like you had trouble with repainting the red over yellow, so if I do something like this I think I'll wait for the 08 Cliffjumper to hit the shelves. I might need a different head though, just because I don't want to buy another jetfire. I wonder if cybertron hot shot's will work

The face doesn't really match the aesthetic, but nice job otherwise.

Love the flames--were they done by hand?

Two or three light coats of grey primer will solve that problem.
