Wow. Yeah, that's a wordy title, but I don't know a proper term for these items to make it shorter. Either way, I thought some people might like to see it. There's a little bit of spotting in the actual emblem's edges where paint managed to leak under the masking I used to create it, which was cleaned up before it was sealed.

BITCHIN! I just installed a Reese hitch on my '00 Jeep Cherokee. I was pondering doing the VERY SAME THING, except an Autobot insignia. How long did that take ya with the masking tape route? Im arguing whether or not to do it that way or plasma-cut the insignia into some sheetmetal for a custom cover. The masking part looks like it might be easier...

That's a lighted trailer hitch that says, "Go ahead - tailgate me. I dare you. Just be prepared to suffer the consequences."

Actually, I happen to have some very high res emblems courtesy of a friend of mine that a lot of people here buy printed product from, and based it on that. What I did was measured the lens, sized the emblem appropriately (and deformed it from the "tall" version to get the "fat" version for better coverage), and printed to label paper. Applied the label after cutting out the square, cut away the areas I wanted paint on with an X-Acto knife, sprayed with Krylon fusion, and removed the label stock that was masking the clear areas. :)
