Since Takara's lavender Galvatron reissue wasn't all I was hoping for, I decided to repaint my old Galvatron to be a little more movie accurate. I wanted a deep blue like in the movie, but I also loved the purple that was already on the figure, so I decided to leave the purple alone and have it be a combo of purple and deep blue. I also left the fists alone, since I think they look better grey with this colour scheme. Another change I made that I haven't seen done too often is his head. I rotated his crown so that (in my opinion) it looks a little more toon accurate. There's also a pic of my own version of his cannon mode, which I think looks a little more movie accurate.
Looks great. This is the second time someone has turned the crown. I can't remember where I saw it at (probably here at TFW2005). The cannon mode. Is that the first picture, with the handle turned up, so Galvy is at more of an angle? Why not remove the handle since I don't believe Galvatron was ever Handheld by anyone and attach something that will give you different angles? Don't mind me, I'm full of suggestions and other stuff. Looks great.

You're right, and it doesn't look anything like RID Galvatron, or Armada Galvatron, or Engeron Galvatron either. Good thing the topic title says "Toon G1 Galvatron" so as not to cause any confusion.

I just love the way that handle-thing looks sticking up in the air like that in cannon mode. I'd never remove it because it's one of the coolest parts of his robot mode, too (see last pic). It was a distinctive part of his toon design, like Rodimus' spoiler.

Thanks. I've been thinking of putting it up on Ebay, since my collection is getting a little too big and would like to scale it down a bit. Not sure if I'm ready to part with it just yet though. It took a long time to do.

Ha, "Galvathing" is awesome. If Hasbro ever reissues him in his original colours, that's what they should call him. They should also rename the leader class movie Megatron to "Megathing."
