who would pay that much for a deluxe. think about it: i could get three supreme devastators, or one deluxe jolt.

They're paying for a name, not a custom. Think about it. Joe Schmo could make a deluxe Jolt with LEDs, whips, enamels, and dry-brushing like this, but Joe Schmo isn't one of the best Radicons Ever. Frenzy_rumble, however, is. And because of his "world renowned customs", people will pay more to own something from him than from Joe.

    See my logic?

Not exactly..."the name" IS the custom, and the custom IS "the name"...
Also consider the fact to how one develops and retains a simple "name"....it's not easy work at all - countless hours of work, blood, injuries, sweat, tears, expenses, sacrifices, etc. this doesn't hold true only for me, it's about all the guys who put customs on ebay and his/her bidders can bid with confidence, knowing exactly what they are bidding on.

It's never instant success and "the name" can topple down like a house of cards after 1 crappy custom or unhappy "customer"... I say this because it holds true to a lot of customizers, you gotta consistently work your ass off, never give up - and remain persistent, every minute of every day. It's too easy to quit or give up after 1 or 2 customs that didn't do as well as expected. When people buy Joe Schmo's custom, they have no idea what they are buying until it's in hand. When they buy a "world renowned custom" they know what they are investing into. Same logic goes into any merchandise or product. I would buy a Lexus, because it's a Lexus. My neighbor can tell me he can build a car better than a Lexus (which he in fact has).... but I wouldn't bite.

On the flip side of the coin, the BIN winner of this Devastator had no idea who I am, he just loves TFs and loved ROTF, and has a lot of $ to express that.

Of course, you end the post with the only thing you care about in this fandom.

    Ebay:
If you ever saw a F_R custom up close you would know why people are willing to pay so much for them.
F_R generally starts his auctions very low (under what the TF cost un-modded) and they generally sell for a ton. Not his doing. The value of anything on ebay is always based on what the buyer is willing to pay. If you are not willing to pay that much for an item, then feel free to not bid.

You do know there are ways for sellers to artificially raise the price of their auctions.

True, but in absolute fairness to F_R in this case, it did get a BIN.

We all know that's possible, but it never has and never will happen on my custom auctions.

Personally, seeing as how the auction has been over for almost two weeks, any further discussion about F_R's selling ability should be taken elsewhere because it appears to be nothing but flame-baiting so far.

I was under the impression that in this forum, we were ONLY supposed to talk about the auction itself?

^Agreed F_R's custom sell well plain and simple, thats all that needs to be said. As for His Dev Auction all I can say is congradulations 4k for a custom TF is just insane, and should help him alot with supporting the family

I say this with all due respect to everyone. Plus the fact that this was posted IN PUBLIC!

I am just curious before this thread closes, is this in any way directed at Frenzy-Rumble.... from a moderator?

Because if it is, that is against the rules. And I feel that could be directed at all customizers that sell for higher prices on eBay.

The fact is noone can really know who does what on eBay.

Why is it any of our business anyway?
