Ever since this figure and his brother were revealed at SDCC, I had to paint it up as their Japanese counterparts. So after 1 or 2 weeks of work, Buster is finished! I am currently working on the combiner hand, in terms of paint, so when Darkwing/Blackwing comes out and I re paint him into Hydra, they will become limbs for King Starscream. Thanks for taking a look!

I was just thinking of doing this last night, but the problem is the tampos. How do you keep them?

I used a thin paint brush around the silver on the wings and if any red got on them I would paint over it with Silver paint. I ended up just repainting all the silver on the wings but the trick is to not paint over the silver decals, you can be sloppy, you just need to either remember, take a photo before hand, or paint over it with silver paint like I did. Thanks for the Question.

Ah. Doesn't really work with my spraying technique. I'll have to look elsewhere.

This looks really cool. I need to know what that red is.
You could put tape over the silver paint and just peel it off afterwards.

That would be incredibly difficult. I'll have to see what I can do.

You could put tape over the general area of the silver and use something like an X-acto knife to slice off the parts of the tape you don’t want to keep on the wings.

would it? work from the inside out use two piece of tape on either side of where you wanna paint, do it, peel em off and let it try completely before you do the next sections as not to let the next pieces of tape take off the paint you already have.

it would be time consuming, but not hard. no need for exacto or weird shaped pieces of tape, just do each section one at a time.

I use clear contact paper and an Xacto. Works like a charm. It's a basic technique for airbrushing.

The custom does look quite nice in the new colors. I am curious as to how they translate to the alt mode

I use Magic Tape and trace the shape with a 0.05 pen, then cut with an X-Acto.

Did it here to preserve Windcharger's insignia. DSC_3584.JPG
