One of those odd instances where if there is even a 0.007% chance of a TT Roddy at this size then I wouldn't want this. It is just Swipe/Alert with some add ons.

 

Technically only Rodimus Prime is a partsformer. I think I more like the Hot Swipe figure alone.

If the price is reasonable then this is probably bought. I HATE my Mp rodimus so at this point I am looking for any Mp styled/scaled alternative. Very interesting idea and I hope they can pull this off.

Dunno why they keep trying to make hotrod/rodimus out of 1 figure.

Make 1 for Hot Rod and make another for Rodimus.....
that way transformation is dedicated to 1 figure...Dude isnt a triple changer

Hmmmm not feeling it at the moment. I really want my MP Hot Rod to be a better effort than a tweaked KO Sideswipe, and I really have no need to partsform him into a Rodimus greatly inferior to MP-9.

 

I totally agree. The hotrod looks pretty good. I do love the mp sideswipe mold, and this is almost like having a mass produced kit bash.

Kinda curious about the hotrod scale to mania king...

 

It's definitely interesting, but I'd have to echo the sentiment that MP Roddy needs to be a completely new mold.

Great for those who like it, but not how I envisioned an MP Rodimus to look.

 

I give them credit for how creative this is, but I would need better to stand with my MPs. Hot Rod just really needs a new mold. The Hot Rod alt mode shown here is definitely "ride in style!"-worthy though.

 

I dont Like that its lambo based... I would prefer MP-09 car mode replicated exactly then reworked from there to bot mode without the hassle of making him rodimus... The Takara MP-09 car mode is hands down my favorite toy I've ever owned

 

I'm pretty much all in for this, but if they can get a little bit more of the details into the sculpt (the collar on the neck, the sculpted details on the legs, waist, etc.) it would be pretty damn perfect.

 

Honestly I'd prefer one figure for Hot Rod and a different figure for Rodimus
This 2 in one thing keeps ruining one mode or the other. Even G1 had 2 different toys.

 

Well the car mode looks good but the robot mode doesnt look hot rod in terms of his silhouette.I dont like the idea of an armor for him also

 

Yeah, not feeling the face sculpts at all, they have no personality. Even though it's based on an MP, I'm getting a classics vibe from it, too. I'll keep an eye on it, with some changes the Hot Rod might tempt me, but I have no interest in a Rodimus suit that is nowhere as good as MP-09. And that's the trouble... I know a lot of people hate him, but MP-09 is one of my favourite MPs. I'd love a downsized Hot Rod, but he's got to look as good as MP-09 (although obviously with compromises for engineering at a smaller scale).

Speaking for myself here. Vehicle mode is fine. The robot mode looks like a giant Classics Hotrod instead of looking like his G1 self as depicted in the movie and toon and that is not something that I would ever call MP. As far as the Rodimus modes - again, the alt mode is fine but everything about the partsforming nature of it and the robot mode just doesn't sit right with me in terms of MP. IMO - just make two different figures, one for HR and one for Rodimus and cut out all the partsforming and sacrifical corner cutting for sake of 4 modes.

 

Pretty much my opinion as well. Vehicle looks awesome but the bot mode is just so far off from what hot rod should look like that the first thing I thought of was oversized classics figure as well. So the alt mode works well being based off of mp-12, but the bot mode is just so far away from the source that it would be just another classics figure imo.

Would probably go really nice with maniaking and such though.

I still want a nice MP styled Hot-Rod but would also take a 3P Hot Rod with a muslcecar (Blown 68-70's Charger or a 70's GTO with sidepipes, etc.) vehicle-mode. Something like the 70's Charger on the pics.
Keeping an eye on this project though.
