My son & I recently picked up several Kre-O TF sets on clearance. As we put them together, we decided to alter each build a bit from the instructions.

These changes can easily be made by anyone because we made sure to use only the parts included in the individual kits.

    First, Optimus Prime:

Here's the official version of Prime:

    And here's the altered version:

Nothing super radical here. Just wanted to bulk him up a bit. Also wanted to simulate some of the visual cues from the movie design, notably on the back.

    Next, Megatron:

    Here's the official version:

    And here's the altered version:

While most of the parts in the kit are meant to represent Megatron's DOTM appearance, there's plenty of pieces to push him a little closer to a G-1-ish look too. Again, a lot of the alterations were aimed at bulking him up some as well as reworking the proportions.

    Last, Starscream:

    The official version:

    And the altered version:

Definitely went well off the instructions for this one. Overall, went for a more G-1 look. Ended up being taller than a Masterpiece Starscream.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look.

This is part of what I like about Kreo. If you wanna change stuff about your normal TFs, you probably need to get out your knife and paints and such; fanmodes only go so far. Kreo? Doesn't need anything more to customize than to put together as instructed other than some creativity. Starscream in particular looks amazingly better. =D Let us know if you do anything with the vehicle modes!

I'd love to see how to's on these as well. Especially that megatron cannon. the optimus prime cannon, I can pretty much see which blocks are used, but a how to would still be cool.

Nice. and these only use parts from the ultimate optimus kit, correct?
Think I am going to tear my optimus apart and build him up this way this weekend.

It might be a little big, but it's worth a try. I used Bumblebee's head on the Iron Man crossover Humvee and it looked alright. I'm going to repaint it eventually into something else, I'm just not sure what yet...

That's the first time I've seen a customized Kreo Starscream. You really made it look awesome and very G1-like. Excellent job on all of them. I'd love "how-to's" for all 3 of yours. My gf has Optimus Prime, but we had trouble assembling the truck due to mistakes in the instruction manual. We haven't taken it apart to turn him into a robot yet, but now I feel inspired.

adypax: thank you for the instruction pictures. Do I have to use the official instructions along with you pictures to make that amazing looking Optimus?

If I see Megatron and/or Starscream on clearance, I think may pick up one of them.

@anindrew i think the core of the body is the same as the instruction..but i did switch some parts around..so the best is just to use the pictures provided..hope that helps..

Here's a Kre-O Jazz I put together last week. This Jazz was made using 2 Kre-O Jazz sets. I think it turned out ok. Very G1-ish. Hope you like.

First, a pic of what a standard Kre-O Jazz looks like:

And this is the updated version using 2 kits:

Thanks for taking a look. I also put together a more G1 style Mirage, but haven't taken pics yet.
