After seeing the movie, I told myself that I wouldn't get into making movie ironman customs.

Unfortunately, I was bored the other day so I bought a Mark3. The figure is a disappointment, IMO, especially the paintjob. This is where I step in. :p

Iron Man was primed and basecoated with automotive paint for a more durable paint job. The metallic red and gold colors were then added using Tamiya and Gunze-Sangyo Mr. Hobby Acrylics.

I actually thought that this was an easy project, but it still took me a few days to get it right.

Here are the pics of my custom Iron Man Mark3:

This is also the first custom piece that I made which I planned to sell from the start. I'd like to sell it on eBay but then again I think that lack of feedback (yes, I am an eBay noob) and the high shipping costs (I'm from the Philippines) might deter me from getting a good price for it.

Or, I could just try selling it on the local market. What do you guys think?

I think you did a pretty good job, but with sooo many Iron man repaints out, you may want to check your local market. Good work, though!

    Ebay:
I agree with autobotx, ebay is pretty flooded with 'em. It's a nice custom though. Since my insomnia is in full-swing, I did this pic for ya

    yee! filipino!

lol, anyways, great job, I was going to do that to mine, but since I had a lack of clear paint, and an excess of chrome, I made a mark II...and now i am iron man-less

I love how you made the metallics the way you did, similar to how it was done on figurerealm

    Thanks!

    Yup, I'm Filipino. Why?

I saw your thread and that just looks amazing! I wish I had access to alclad over here.

I just saw that figure realm tutorial yesterday. Hahah. It looks exactly like mine, only a little "cleaner". I think that the Tamiya clear paint looks a little different from the ones I used.

Thanks man! Good luck with those. I saw your Mark I and Monger. They look great! You really put that alclad to good use.

    why, I'm filipino too!

and as for alclad, you can probably get it online, but I've also heard good things about the duplicolor chrome spray paint (which is alot cheaper than the alsa corp stuff), but I like to use brushes, so alclad it is.

    Kababayan! heheh :)

i'd like to get it online but the shipping cost is a little too much for a can of paint. duplicolor huh? thanks for the tip. i'll try to find that locally.

be sure to prime it with either some krylon fusion black, or some primer cuz duplicolor isn't made for plastic
