Well..it's finally done! I did alot of blue paint taping and spraying sections with the Krylon Spray paint for plastic! It works really well! I took alot of the parts off the figure to spray them individually.

I got it as close to the real one as possible, based on pictures. Only problem was that all the pictures looked different that I used for reference, due to different lighting and type of cameras used. I now have all three Maximus figures!

***UPDATE AS OF 4/27/09: Repaint of proper Face color and Chest Area!

Introducing my repaint of Fortress Maximus into a Custom Grand Maximus:

I saw one like this on Ebay once, and I think the same about this one: sure, a Grand Max is slightly rarer than a Fort Max, but I think doing any custom work to a figure like this is pretty much sacrilege. If nothing else, it ruins the value because the figure is ridiculously expensive already.

Simply: if you can afford a third Fort Max mold, you should be able to afford an actual Grand Max.

As for the work, well, looks great.

    Great work,pretty much spot on.
You should get him one of those repro Master swords, they turn up on ebay from time to time.

I do know what you mean but there is a pretty big difference in price when it comes to Grand Maximus,i consider myself pretty lucky to have got mine for the price i did.

Is this the Mega Sword you are referring to? I have one.

To answer the question that I could afford the real Grand Maximus....NOT gonna pay the $1500 to $2500 for the real one! That's stupid!
The third Fortress Maximus mold was a junker that was stripped down and I got it really cheap! And I already had most of the spare parts to complete him. And I don't plan to sell them anyway.

Yes, I took most of the parts off to spray paint individually. I took off the feet and arms and various other parts. The spray I used was called Krylon Spray Paint for Plastic. It adheres very good. The rest of the sections, I simply taped off with wide blue painter tape. It took alot of patience!
