Hey guys this is a new one for me,im doing a commision for a custom bruticus.

i thought id try put a new spin on it and make a movie style version but keep all the g1 signature stuff

the thing is gonna be huge because im gonna try using all voyager class sized figures

im gonna use cybertron starscream for the legs and good ol unicron for the arms as i have never used them and there big

but im desperate for some help on connections!i cant use lego knights because i know they wont hold the weight, the other problem is unlike my devastators these connections will have to be seperate as i cant see any obvious way to mod the movie figures without affecting the transformation so please guys help!

im going to mod all the figures to look like the g1 counterparts but at the minute im using

    2007 movie prime as onslaught
    deluxe brawl as brawl
    voyager blackout as vortex
silver bolt or astrotrain as blast off (any others?)
    movie ironhide as swindle

any better matches that are size similar and more like g1 will be welcome.

here is a few pics to give you a rough idea that i have, found a cool way to transform prime on this.cheers!

Hmm. Deluxe Brawl isn't a Voyager, and would look tiny next to Ironhide. Have you considered Bludgeon/Banzai-Tron as a base?
    Looks good so far, though!

Try using armada Jetfire as Blast-off, and use a voyager as brawl (SEE if the leader one is the right size, or use a deluxe as swindle). Looks like its going to be great

He's referring to the thighs from this dude, RID Magnus. Which is a pretty good idea. The thighs have pretty sturdy ratcheting hip joints in two directions, plus just a short distance down the thigh is a point where you detach the lower legs to transform him, which could be most useful for the combiner ports. Then he's got ratcheting knees too.

Lookin real good man! I agree maybe bludgeon or leader brawl instead of the deluxe. As for connecters i used lego technic and neo shifters in my devy with voyager, ulta, n leadr bots. I hope it helps!

exactly I have those parts disassembled so I could take a few pics??

btw yeah Bludeon or Banzaitron would be best next to ironhide...
I got deluxe + leader brawl both ly'ing around for this monster to see which is better, but since I'm using a deluxe Landmine for swindle or altenators Swindle :D

What about Energon Omega Supreme's joints? They're pretty huge. Other than that, I can only really think of making some out of styrene using cotter pin style tubing and frame joints. You could prolly collaborate with JBarb78 or Zildjian - They're pretty big styrene builders and I know Zildjian has made some huge joints for his Movie Verse Menasor and his current massive Devy WIP.

    cheers mate

thanks so much mate these look great but way to expensive for 2 connectors!as for casting i would do it but there are to many moving parts and they wll be spring loaded inside, maybe someone with more skill could make these or something similar!

cheers for the advice i agree, ill ask jbarb he normally has a good answer for everything!

interesting. I did a 33" animated bruticus maximus. after figuring out the joints, just make sure he's stable to stand and pose. that was my challenge, esp using top-heavy figures.IMHO.

    good luck
