I wanted to do this figure since it came out as its so awsome!!! First I lightly sanded off the original Flames with very fine grit sandpaper before washing and painting the parts. I used automotive paints as well as Humbrol metal cote for the metallic parts which I then buffed up to a high shine with my dremel. I also painted the chrome parts High gloss black in prep for chroming.

Thanks just sprayed the parts with Humbrol Metal Cote polished steel enamel paint which dries a fairly dull grey colour but when polished looks very like polished steel! I used a small polishing bit that came with my dremel and kept it at 5 000 rpm and it really brought out the shine!

That's going to be a beauty! For plastic Omegaprime, just use your dremel on its low setting.

Thanks guys, unfortunately it WAS at the lowest setting when I used it.. my dremel is old as hell though.. ah well... time to update to something that can go slower.. Maybe I could just buy the polishing bits and use them in my drill with a light pull of the trigger.... hmmmmmmmmm....... Now THERE'S an idea..

Looks nice and shiny! Are you gonna repaint the flames or leave em off?

That's the BEAUTIFUL thing about this set. It actually comes with decals! You don't have to be able to paint the flames (which is good, because only a handful of people seem to be good at the flames- for the rest of us it's a god send).

BTW, I'm still looking for a spare DMK Prime decal sheet (or two) if anyone has one they know they'll never use, PM me.

This is looking very nice. I can't wait to see it finished!

^ I didn't know that. Yeah, painting flames is a huge pain.
