BACK TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE WHERE THIS BELONGS

Hey guys , the ball joint issue for these I noticed that if you leave them in place for a period of time they kinda have that melted look to them. Mine have not come apart yet but I have noticed they mold themselves to the socket to form a square.

Yeah, I've noticed that too with the ball joints. Once the rubber ball molds itself to match the joint's hold, the ball joint eventually loosens after a long period of time. Even though I don't play around with the figures, the joints and limbs loosen up because of this. It's a minor fault of the ball joint's design. If you're a child and play with the toys often, the looser limbs isn't an issue. But if you're a collector and have the pieces on display, it might be problematic because the characters might topple over (if too top heavy).

Cybertron Metroplex with Construct-Bots Armor Upgrade.

I purchased a used Cybertron Metroplex yesterday. After cleaning it up -- it looked like someone smothered Cheetos all over it, I decided to bulk him up with Construct-Bots pieces, giving him an armor upgrade.

Apex Bomber/Godbomber with Custom Construct-Bots Armor Upgrade.

I upgraded Apex Bomber/Godbomber with custom Construct-Bots armor. It gives him a more completed look when he's paired with Powermaster Optimus Prime.

    Custom Construct-Bots OPTIMUS PRIME.

Here is a new custom Construct-Bots OPTIMUS PRIME that I made. Optimus has been a difficult character for me to custom design. With the exception of the movie-inspired custom figure that I made, I was never happy with my previous builds. This one is a little closer to the vision I have inside of my head...

Went back and swapped out the feet for a larger base. Thanks for the suggestion, WuLongTi.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I loved Zoids when I was a kid, so this was kind of my homage to that. Glad you noticed! :)

Thanks! I appreciate the compliments. Means a lot.

Custom Age of Extinction Construct-Bots by Lou B.

I finally got my hands on the Age of Extinction line of Construct-Bots toys. I love some of the new pieces, like the new skeletal system...BUT I still prefer the older 5mm peg system of the 1st generation of Construct-Bots over the new clip-on pieces. Still, the new sets are very cool. Here are some custom Age of Extinction-inspired Construct-Bots figures that I made using a mix of the older and newer sets. Note: These are robot-only, no transform.

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment! :)  Yeah, I can relate with the thought process stuff -- I can sit around for hours, just trying to think how I'll make some pieces work.

Hey man, sorry for the delay, I'm just seeing this now.

Thanks a bunch. I've since finished all the other Stunticons; I'll get some pics up asap.

The paint is from Walmart/Home Depot. Just your average spray paint. Through trial and error I found that SATIN finish is far better than gloss. (I redid this figure, I'll repost the new pictures)

Like all custom painting, it'll need a few coats.

I then use Sharpie Paint Markers for any little accents I wish to add.

EDIT: Here are the finished 4; waiting for Dragstrip to arrive. I'll post individual and bot modes later.

gbm, don't worry. I don't mind you posting here. I actually love seeing your work -- your Stunticons are amazing! BTW, do you prep your pieces before painting them? I really like the paint work on your custom pieces.

Updated custom Construct-Bots Lockdown and Optimus Prime.

I wasn't happy with my custom Construct-Bots Age of Extinction Lockdown and Optimus builds, so I went back and changed them a little. I'm a little bit closer to the vision I have in my head...
