    Done.

    - Added a targeting screen with some articulation. So it can be tucked away in robot mode.
    - I may go ahead and paint the barrel half silver half purple and paint the antennas silver as well.

    transformers parts used:

    - Universe 2.0 Springer arms (red counter part since I was missing the other arm
    - Universe 2.0 Blaster legs
    - Universe 2.0 Ratbat feet and heels
    - energon shockblast
    - clear blue piece from Unicron as Targeting screen.
    - swivel joints from rotf mixmaster
    - lego pieces for the canon

no more ugly tank mode parts.

That is really cool. The only thing I don't like is how skinny the Blaster legs look (That kind of why I never liked that mold anyway) but it does have the right look though. Great choices on the arms. Can't wait to see him painted.

Hrm.. now that you say it.. I can't unsee it.. I wonder if a Classics megatron or something similar would work out and also give that nice grippy handle look

the only gripe about the legs are in gun mode. i'm looking for a grip handle look but nada. megatrons legs are too big in gun mode especially both together. I was think of buying a dollar store futuristic looking gun to maybe add it on the grips. it would have to come off and on like the barrel.

yeah i love the legs. its G1 Shockwave sexy. :)

solrac and demonss make a good point, but now it's up to you. if you want something that looks more comfortable, go with the megatron legs, but if you want something thats more of an homage to g1 shockwave, stick with what you got. personally i would stick with the current form. if anything, i would get some round, eliptical shield-like shaped pieces and paint em gray to stick on the outside of his legs, ala G1
but i must say he looks fantastic

It's wonderful in its ingenius simplicity. Took me a while to see where all the parts were living in each mode and what mods you had done, which means the whole thing flows very nicely, which is great!

DO paint the barrel though, the'll be nigh on perfect then!

Thanks again for the comment. Much appreciated.

the barrel was white and is now painted silver. I believe if I paint the gun barrel half silver and half purple the barrel would flow nicer with the build.

being honest man, I wasn't sure how this guy would turn out when painted...

I can see my predictions were wrong, and thank god. That looks amazing man, especially in robot mode. ^^ You definitely took a different spin on the whole Classics Shockwave motive :)

I've been wanting to give mine better arms since I got him, and I have a Universe Springer that's just sitting around gathering dust!!

How did you transplant them in? Was it hard?

no cut needed on the arms. really simple kitbash but worth every piece of kitbash fodder. removing the arms from springer is not that hard either. :D

You were right, the arm swap was super easy!!

Not to keep asking a thousand questions...how did you recolor the eye & chest piece? I would imagine putting translucent red paint over translucent green plastic would give you not-so-translucent brown, :lol . But you've got a beautiful translucent red going on there. Also, I'm not seeing any way to remove the eye (I'd assume removing the chest piece is as easy as unscrewing his back, right?)... Help? [IMG]
