Took a break from detailing to throw on some factory stickers. I hunger for the reprolabels like Trypticon hungers for titanmasters

I mean, I did learn from the best! ;)  You taught me most of what I know, so double thanks!

Thought the repros would arrive today, but alas. However, that means they *should* show up tomorrow, which will hopefully prompt me to do some dirty washing tonight in preparation.

Also just found my missing silver & gold fine point paint markers, which is going to make doing all those little wires & things muuuch easier.

Been doing details, dirtywashing, and applying hundreds of all the factory & reprolabels stickers for the past couple weeks now, here & there whenever I get a chance. Full-Tilt I feel is done now, but Tryp still has a little more work to do. Almost there tho, the end is in sight. He's looking pretty boss in all modes, I'll post some nice update pics soon of all the hard work.

It's amazing what simply making him some shades darker can do for the overall look.
The black is way more menacing than the grey imo

Perfect. Now you only need to overpaint the eyes black.

    Update! 99% complete image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
Wouldn't you know it, I have the alternate tower, so I need the reprolabels tower amendment set. Other than that just some minor tweaks here & there I need to do. Remind me to show the garage & belly interior too at a later date (forgot to snap that)

The base mode looks so detailed I was really drawn in to those pictures. I'm in awe, how much fun that looks as a base!

Do you mean Wipe-out? I thought about it! Except with a CW Blackjack

Thank you all for the kind words! I was worried about messing it up somehow a few times along the way, but it turned out much easier than I expected. Just time consuming lol

Girlfriend let me use her nice camera a while back, then we both forgot I took these lol. So here's a better look at Full-Tilt & Necro, with some touch ups, a black wash, and of course reprolabels.

Thank you! It was def worth the work. I'd always wanted a Trypticon since I was a kid, he'd been a "holy grail" item for me for a looong time, so once I finally got him I knew I had to fix him up right

Your Welcome, it is far better than anything Hasbro would do.

Why does your provided reference art depict such an inexplicably tiny Trypticon? Were the G1 comics really so stupid that they didn't know how big Trypticon is?

Early Transformers scale was always all over the place, the G1 show & comic especially. These may have been supposed to be redwood trees, but either way it didn't (and still doesn't) really bother me since it was good for its time, and this issue in particular was really great. Dinobots vs Trypticon, Trypticon vs the whole Arc crew, Shockwave & Ratbat running the 'Cons & arguing about resources, Grimlock proving himself to the Autobots & becoming their new leader... good stuff

Yup. Grimlock and the Dinobots pretty much saved the Autobot's @$$es as Trypticon opened up a can of whup-ass on them. It was especially funny that the Autobots shunned Grimmy when he made his case for Autobot leader while everyone else was fawning over the fallen Optimus only for them to turn around and make him leader (given what happens after there had to be a bunch of voters with buyers remorse--hey, did Budiansky really predict our most recent election almost thirty years ahead of it's time? :) .

Oddly, I thought the old Marvel G1 comics scale was more consistent than the G! toon. Fort Max, Scorponok and Trypticon may have been massively underscaled throughout the series but at least it was consistent. The comics have an out too as they never presented Trypticon and Fort Max as Citybots, more like giant bases/attack units. Meanwhile, the G1 cartoon had Metroplex and Trypticon as being slightly bigger than combiners, which always bugged me since I've always wanted them presented as they were in the cartoon toy commercials, where Metroplex could hold a combiner in his hand.

That's one of the things I like about IDW is that they finally showed just how big 'Plex should be.

Yeah even in this issue Trypticon doesn't refer to his alt mode as a city, just a "battle station." Although he may have been talking about his vehicle mode

Crap, just realized I *still* haven't taken pictures of his belly interior... or what I did with his garage. I'll get on that soon
