Little bored and made some custom cardbacks. I also got some of the minibots finished. How did they come out?

Nice work - although Joopsta's post has alerted me to a bit of a flaw. You've put Noizu and Zaur on the same card - Noizu should be with Graphy and Zaur should be with Dial, since they're combining pairs...

    These look GREAT, man! :thumb

I would recommend right justifying the Botcon minibots's character artwork though.

Ah, but you're not thinking about SALES. A child would have to buy BOTH sets in order to form both combiners. Marketing-wise, he's gone with the correct choice.

Why did they always show LASERBEAK with Soundwave even though he came with Buzzsaw? Sales sales sales.

And while I'm at it, does anyone have a way to make custom blister bubbles and would be willing to make a few bucks in the process?

All these look very nice man...custom packaging always impresses me...sometimes more so than doing a custom robot...to me it just seems very difficult to produce packaging with all the equipment and card/plastic stock needed...again these look really nice...

There was a fellow going by the id of MirageBoxes that made BEAUTIFUL custom boxes using high quality photo paper. He's since stopped, but the concept is still top notch.

Fair point, but the main point I was making was that the combining pairs were packaged as such; Zaur with Dial and Noizu with Graphy. I assumed that the exercise was to make replica packaging of the figs as they would have been released (which Val pretty much confirmed when he said he noticed the fluff).

In the cartoon, you mean? You're right, that would have been because of sales. Because Buzzsaw came packaged with Soundwave, they didn't need to advertise him, so they concentrated on showing the cassettes that you did have to buy separately.

Sounds like a job for someone with access to some form of vacuum-forming equipment...

Well is not hard to make custom boxes or cardbacks. Their 2 way on doing design it from scratch or fix an original tf boxes. The bubble blister are also easy to designed. Just do a google sure and about vaccumm forming, Getting the mold, just by a knock off tf. rip the blister out make sure it okay. than use plaster from paris pour it im. wait till it dries. you have a mold for the bubble blister.
